【语法提要】
1.save
save作动词，意为“救;拯救”，后常跟介词from。
例句：He saved the boy from the big fire.他从大火中救出了那个男孩。
2.cut off
（1）切断（水、电）；中断；关掉。
例句：Their water supply was cut off．他们的水源被切断了。
All communications are cut off．一切通讯都被切断了。
（2）切下来；剪下来。
例句：The rope is two feet longer than we needed，so we cut off the extra length．
绳子比我们需要的长两英尺，因此我们把多余的给剪下来了。
