At the Hotel
(Ms. Zhang together with Mr. Baker arrived
at the hotel that the former had booked forthe latter. Now the former is helping thelatter to check in. This is the dialoguebetween Ms. Zhang and a hotel clerk.)
A: Hello, welcome to Tulip Hotel, what can Ido for you?
B: Hi, yes, I had a reservation of a room.
A week ago I called and booked the room
for the guests coming from New York. Thereservation should be for a double bed,non-smoking room.
A: And under what name was it made?
B: Mr. Baker B-A-K-E-R.
A: Let me check.… Oh, yes, here it is.You’ve got a non-smoking room with adouble bed, on the 17th floor
B: My guest doesn’t like a room overlookingthe street.
A: No, sir. This is a quiet room with abeautiful view.
