阅读下列短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中, 选出最佳选项。

When traveling on a budget, every dollar counts. Unfortunately, the cost of tickets alone can make a serious hole in your savings. Don’t let that stop you from taking your dream vacation, though. According to Jeff Klee, CEO of CheapA, there is a “sweet spot” to get the biggest bang for your buck.
“The most important rule is fairly obvious: don’t wait until the last minute, as that rarely works out,” he said in a statement. “But beyond that, you also want to be careful not to buy too early.”
Still, that’s easier said than done. Finding the most cost-efficient time to book is tough. Luckily, somebody did the math—so you don’t have to. Data crunchers from the online travel agency CheapA surveyed over 917 million fares to determine the day with the cheapest rates.
Here’s what they found: while prices tend to stay the same between 320 and 106 days before a trip, they start dropping at the 105-day mark. That said, you might be tempted to book the moment prices drop. But hold on! You’ll save even more money by booking precisely 70 days before your trip. According to CheapA, you can save 48 percent of the ticket’s total cost by using this trick. After that date, airfares will begin to increase again. And don’t even think about booking any later than 20 days ahead of time, as prices will be soaring.
So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your next dream vacation, and book accordingly. Your wallet will thank you—guaranteed.
21.When can we book our plane tickets to save the most money?
A.The later, the better.
B.As early as possible.
C.105 days before our trip.
D.70 days before our trip.
22.How much can the trick help us save if the ticket costs $400 totally?
A.$48. B.$192.
C.$208. D.$352.
23.What’s the purpose of the author in writing this text?
A.To explain what a “sweet spot” is.
B.To attract people to traveling by plane.
C.To show the ways of booking plane tickets.
D.To tell people how to buy cheap plane tickets.
B
My son Sam is 16 and autistic(自闭症的). There’s a lot going on in that beautiful and brilliant mind of his, but even on a good day he can be easily at a loss. Throw in some diagnosed anxiety, an inability to read social cues(提示) and an unexpected change to his daily routine, and you have the way to deal with a very public breakdown(精神崩溃).
It was Sam’s very first day at high school. We’d set up a plan for how he’d get home: I’d pick him up outside the shop near his school at 3:30 pm and I believed this was a perfect plan. Unknown to me, very bad weather was on its way and I was unable to warn him to take shelter.
With the combination of his dead phone battery and my dead car battery, I was running late and unable to communicate that to him. As a result, he was left alone and extremely frightened. He became very upset outside the shop, exactly where I’d told him to wait.
This was when a beautiful older Vietnamese lady not only went to check_on him, but took him inside her shop, calmed him down, got my phone number from him and called me.
Five years later he continued to go into her shop every afternoon, bought a drink, had a chat and she sent him home with enough bread and rolls to feed a small nation.
Sam will graduate this year, and I’m increasingly feeling the need to drop by the shop to let this wonderful lady know that she has saved Sam, and that she has saved me. I’m not sure if I can communicate all of this, but at least I will get to thank her.
There are people I will not get to thank, though—the many kind strangers who have been there for Sam. And believe me, if you’re wondering if this world is a complete mess right now, I’m here to say that it is not.
So I guess this is a love letter to those of you who have helped a stranger out of the goodness of your heart. Please know you are appreciated, and that your beautiful heart and kindness are appreciated, and perhaps unknowingly, you have made a great difference in someone’s life.
24.What can we learn about Sam from the first paragraph?
A.He is rather slow with his studies.
B.He can deal with sudden changes well.
C.He has difficulty in dealing with things.
D.He tries hard to learn how to read social cues.
25.The underlined part “check on” in Paragraph 4 probably means “________”.
A.discover B.visit
C.recognize D.examine
26.What is the author’s purpose in writing the passage?
A.To express her thanks to kind people.
B.To remind us all to help autistic people.
C.To show how difficult life is for autistic people.
D.To tell us how to make a difference in others’ lives.
C
We’ve been covering standing desks for a long time now because experts agree that sitting all day is killing us. We want to be productive while also keeping our bodies healthy. Over the years, there have been several solutions to this from fixed standing desks to adjustable ones, portable desks to ones that change into shelves.
However, the most hightech and elegant solution has to be this new smart desk called the Stir Kinetic Desk. The desk learns your daily behavior and moves between a sitting and standing height regularly throughout the day to keep you moving without interrupting your work flow.
You can program specific sitting and standing intervals or let the desk set the schedule. If you tend to sit while returning emails in the morning, but always want to stand during that afternoon conference call, the desk will learn those regular habits and adjust the schedule to fit them. Of course, the desk can always be manually lowered or raised by using the touchscreen on the lower left corner of the desk.
When switching positions, the desk gently dips and rises to let you know that a change is coming up. If you’re not ready to switch positions at that time, you can tap the touchscreen to stay sitting or standing for a while longer.
The builtin touchscreen also keeps track of your daily sitting and standing times and tells you how many calories you’ve burned. You can even set goals for how long or how often you want to stand. The desk also works with fitness devices like the Fitbit to track your movements.
All of that smart technology doesn’t come cheap though. The M1 desk, which is the everyday model, runs a steep $2, 990, while the more executive model with added features, the F1, goes for $4, 190.
While expensive, it’s worth that thinking of how much time we spend at our desks. Much like a good mattress(床垫), a good desk that works with you is worth the investment. Hopefully in a few years these smart, integrated desks will be more common and less expensive.
27.The Stir Kinetic Desk has been designed to ________.
A.help users with their work
B.keep users moving all the time
C.get users to exercise while working
D.remind users of their working schedule
28.Which is the feature of the touchscreen of the desk?
A.It can tell users when to change positions.
B.It can track users’ changes of positions.
C.It can keep users in a fixed position.
D.It can detect users’ health condition.
29.Which of the following can best describe the desk?
A.Productive but challenging. B.Convenient but unaffordable.
C.Complex and impractical. D.Multifunctional and intelligent.
30.What does the author intend to tell us in the last paragraph?
A.To spend money on such a desk is rewarding.
B.We should get such a desk as soon as possible.
C.It won’t be long before the desk is widely used.
D.Desks play a very important role in our daily life.

It is not as simple as opening the door and hitting the track in winter. There are a few things you can do to ensure you are getting the most out of your run and, importantly, not doing more harm than good.
Warm up, cool down
31.________. Your muscles need some time to warm up when it’s cold, so take it easy when you set off and do a few stretches once you’re finished.
Drink water
You might not feel hot, but that’s because sweat evaporates(蒸发) more quickly into the chilly, dry air. So be sure to drink water before, during and after coldweather workouts. 32.________. A belt bottle conveniently attaches to your waist so you don’t have to carry it and can have a drink whenever you feel like it.
33.________
Running in cotton is a bad idea. Wear thin, breathable layers of synthetic(合成的) clothing that help protect you from the wind and snow, but still let out heat and moisture. Thirty percent of your body heat escapes through your hands and forty percent through your head. Wear a hat, or beanie(无檐小便帽), and gloves so your circulatory system can distribute warm blood to the rest of your body. 34.________.
Run into the wind
35.________. Obviously, it will be an easier passage home with some extra help from Mother Nature. But, more importantly, you won’t have the wind in your face for the second half of your run, when you are more likely to be sweating and catch a chill.
A.Dress right
B.Keep warm
C.Don’t go too fast, too soon
D.Start and finish in the same way
E.Don’t wait to drink water until you feel thirsty
F.Head out into the wind and come home with it at your back
G.On really cold days, wear a mask or scarf over your mouth to protect your face
