Why The Gatsby Is Great
The Great Gatsby describes the break of American dream.It is a story of the
thwarted love between Gatsby and Daisy.I think Gatsby is great mainly for the fill
-owing reasons.
First,he knew what he really wanted and he can did whatever was necessary
to meet the goal.He stuck to his love .This is really valuable compered with the illus
-ory American dream. He made an effort to become a rich man.He was prodigal .He
built luxury house and held sumptuous feast to attract the woman.Daisy was every
-thing to Gatsby.He wanted to stay with her forever and this was his only dream.It is
really important for us to know what we do want to have.Only in this way,we will ha
-ve the motivation to success.
Second,he kept a pure and sincere heart.He knew the dark side of human nat
-ure but he still believed love is pure and unselfish .He was a man who put his whole
heart into his dream.He lived a solitary life and had to stand his sweetheart in another
man’s arms.But he always believed Daisy loved him and she never loved someone el
-se.As a result,he can lied down his life for the love .
Third, he was ambitious to succeed.Young people often indulged in a life of
Pleasure And comfort in that period however Gatsby was unusually diligent.He work
-ed day and night to change his fate.He had the spirit of Western Pioneers.He began
from nothing but he believed that no pains,no gains.At last,he did it.
Fourth,,he never gave up.No matter love or career.He faced many hardship
in his life but he never lost his hope.The legacy which he should gotten was taken by
other man.His true love abandoned him for wealth.He kept moving to get over difficu
-lities .Gatsby was a idealist.His spirit is worth learning. We will face so many trouble
-s when we pursue our dream.So it is important to hold the firm and indomitable spirit
and goes forward our own goals.
Besides,he was fearless .He did n’t fear the pressure of poverty and were
struggle against the difficulties to be rich.He also wasn’t afraid of the secular vision.
Gatsby was dedicated to the pursuit.He even did n’t fear public misunderstanding and
took the responsibility of the accident which had nothing to do with him.He devoted h
-imself consistently to his dream.In order to make his dream come true,he could give
up everything.And this do need great courage.In the current society,we have to face a
-ll kinds of pressure like parental pressure and the pressure of public opinion.In this ca
-se we should learn the spirit of Gatsby.we need to be fearless for our dreams too.
Above all,I think Gatsby is great mainly for his distinctive compared wi
-th other man in that times.He is a man who is difficult to exist in reality.He purity his
-alist.His struggle reflects the spirit of perseverance and independence.His achieveme
-nt should be attributed to his hardworking.Some people say Gatsby lost everything,so
they he is great.But I believe one’s achievement depends on his life process,not on his
final result. Obviously, Gatsby is great in this respect.
