The role of Linguistics in modern English teaching
Abstract:one of the basic theory of English teaching is that the design of the syllabus, teaching materials selection and preparation, classroom design and implementation of the teaching process and teaching evaluation of the results must consider the actual use of language firstly. Thus, it becomes more important that according to the actual use of language to decide what to teach students and how to teach the language. As a result, modern English linguistics which is for the purpose of studying the language development and use becomes an indispensable prerequisite guiding to the implementation of English teaching .

In English teaching, the students mainly acquire knowledge (mostly indirect knowledge)，and to store them, and gradually transform them into capacity according to their own imitation and practice with a certain context when the knowledge reaches a certain degree. In the stage of English teaching in lower grades, the teachers’ main task is to lead students to develop the habit of active acquisition of knowledge,and owe the method of knowledge storage, through a certain amount of knowledge into the process of capacity and experience all of this transformation process. It will benefit them later in other courses, to accelerate and deepen the capacity of the new knowledge to the transformation by the comfortable, efficient way.
It can not do without the guidance of modern English linguistics to accomplish the above tasks. With the scientific guidance of Linguistics, English teachers would consciously work together, the method will be diversity, the program will become more rational, scientific test results will be possible.
1 the penetration of Linguistics in teaching practice
At the present , English teaching materials are based on the chapter as a unit, chapter of the carrier is language. English language teaching improve people's thinking, understanding and skills and literacy. According to the language cognition, language, communication and language training (written and spoken) . Therefore, English teaching must accept the modern linguistic theory in a large extent and deep field . However, the current English teaching on the application of linguistics are often in an unconscious state, makes a valuable theoretical linguistic wealth and the urgent need to reform the teaching of science is difficult to be integrated. Therefore, it is necessary to have a further discuss ion of the relationship between them.
First, the relationship between corpus and language management. Linguistics is to describe reasonable language, language management is to summarize in the complex out of corpus. However, the language management have an analysis of the sort of materials, such as the language broken down into phonemes or phonemes to determine the subjects of phonetics and phonology, structural components of the sentence and their relationship to syntax, and the fact that the study of language change, mechanisms and results of historical linguistics and so on. compiling texbook is prefer to use teaching materials after decomposition of the corpus rather than to use the completely expression, complex thoughts and feelings words work as corpus. Modern English linguistics research areas related to the object of study subjects, such as voice, words, sentences, etc., in English textbooks, neither intends to bring together, nor the arrangement has been ordered. Therefore, during the process of transforming the linguistic theory into the language teaching practice, teachers need to use together with the language ability of law, the corpus can be ordered disorder treatment there.

Only through the appropriate channels, and guide students to learn to observe that the linguistic phenomenon keenly, and then sum up the law we can achieve the purpose of the "grant recognition to fish".
Third, the language is the bearer of the ideas, but linguistics is the study of the language of abstract form. In recent years, the constant-depth cultural studies, provided new ideas for exploring the language and cultural content and empirical content . In practice,what English language teaching load of specific face is the language of thought and culture, rather than purely linguistic form. Therefore, language acquisition, grasp of the language law can not exist without language content in mind, that works comprehend verbal thoughts, and feelings.
2 The discipline and phenomenon of “English blind”

The former refers to the ability and choice of corpus and pragmatic thinking synchronization strength; the latter is speaking fluency, appeal, and adaptability to different contexts and linguistic grace and the number of ideas through language and depth of absorption.
（3）The ability of studying
This includes the formation of the speed and sense of language strengths and weaknesses, the degree of sensitivity to linguistic phenomena, interpreted language rules imagination and the ability to sum up the language, as well as interest in the language and habits.Modern students have been training some of the English language, whether written or oral, will have some language and customs. So, from what specific level of English class began with a certain degree of difficulty: different starting points of students, and the original language used to update the language training will play a positive and negative aspects to improve the role. But as long as the teachers regard the language training as the ultimate goal of teaching to pursue, then the cultivation of language education would show their consciousness in a certain degree the students in the original language habits to promote good , at the same time, the Bad habits of the possible side effects can certainly be eliminated gradually. Sense of language is the most basic part, related to the ability of human existence, development capacity, the ability to change the world. Therefore, it is a mistake view that the existence of past and present is still the sole purpose of teaching English as a narrow understanding of listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation and other language abilities.wo must correct it.
To adapt to the new situation of China's educational development to meet the new era of national and social needs of personnel training, the students must develop the "English language proficiency." Only break the language ability of students to teaching objectives as the only narrow aspects , guiding the use of teaching ideas and improve teaching methods according to the modern English language theory.Only can we improve the students include emotional skills, thinking skills, cross cultural communication and social skills, self-learning ability, and other levels of overall quality.
