My name is Steven. I’m 12 years old. I am from Sydney. In Sydney, I like summer best. People usually go to the beach and swim in the sea. Many children like to play on the sand. In fall, the maple trees are red. They’re very beautiful. You can take pictures near the trees.

Now I am in Jiaohe. When it’s winter in Sydney , it’s summer in Jiaohe. It makes me so surprised. So I have to change my clothes. In Jiaohe, winter is so cold. And sometimes it snows . Many children like to play with snow and make a snowman. I can skate in Jiaohe now. Summer is my favourite season in Jiaohe. There are lots of tasty fruit. I like peaches best, because they are so sweet. And I can have a good rest in summer holiday.

We have four seasons in a year. But they’re different between Beijing and Sydney . When it’s winter is Beijing , it’s summer in Sydney . In Beijing, spring is from March to May. Summer is from June to August. Autumn is from September to November. Winter is from December to February the next year. Autumn is from March to May. Winter is from June to August . Is that interesting?

I am Amy. Today is March 5th. It’s Sunday . I get up early. It’s cloudy and cool. It’s my birthday. So I am very happy.
I go to the park and have a picnic with my parents in the morning. In the afternoon, we watch TV at home . Mother says , “My birthday is in summer. It’s hot . We can go swimming. ” I say, “ I like summer best . I like swimming.” All of us are very happy today.

I am Sam. I am a taxi driver. I word at night. I go to work at 6:00 in the evening. I eat dinner at 5:00 p.m. I go home at 5:00 in the morning. I eat breakfast at 5:30 a.m. I go to bed at 6:30 a.m. I get up at 11:35. I eat lunch at 12:00. After lunch I often wash my clothes and clean my room. I usually play sports with my friends at 3:00 p.m.in the park. Then I go home and take a shower. I often watch TV at 4:00 p.m. This is my day . It’s so busy.

Today is Teachers’ Day . In the morning, we go to school early and put a bunch of flowers on our teacher’s desk to give them a surprise. Some of up stand at the school gate to say “Happy Teachers’ Day” to every teacher. In the afternoon, we have a party. We sing and dance with the teachers. We also give cards to teachers. They are very happy.

The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday for Chinese people. It’s also called “the Spring Festival”. For Chinese , the New Year comes with the first day of the first lunar month. It’s usually in January or February. People prepare (准备)for the holiday for fifteen days.
At midnight , people stay at home with their family. The younger people in the family wish(祝愿) the older people a happy New Year. The older people give children gifts or money in red envelopes(红包). In the morning, people dress in their best clothes. Some people call their relatives(亲戚) and friends. They do not use bad words. They wish their friends a happy New Year.

Hello, I’m Zhang Peng . I’m at home. It’s six o’clock in the evening. Grandma is cooking dinner in the kitchen . I am doing my homework. I am hungry. Now it’s 6:30. Dinner is ready . My family are eating dinner. The food is tasty and yummy. It’s 7:20. I’m doing the dishes. I am helpful at home . Mum is reading a book. Grandma is watching TV in the living room. Father is reading a newspaper. Grandpa is drawing pictures in his bedroom.

The panda’s face looks like a cat’s, but its body and short tail are like a bear’s . So people call this animal bear-cat. The panda has a very mild temperament(温和的性情) and is very lovely. Everybody likes it very much.
The panda is a particular (特别的) animal to China. The northwestern part of Sichuan Province(省) and southern part of Gansu Province are its native home . Pandas like to climb trees. They live in the forest of high mountains, eat bamboo and drink spring water.

It’s very hot today. We are in the zoo. We can see many animals. Look , the monkeys are very interesting. The baby monkey is eating an ice-cream! The mother monkeys are jumping from trees to trees. The elephants are taking a bath.
The tigers are swimming in the pond. The bears are not playing, they are sleeping under a big tree . The giraffes are standing and watching around. They want to drink some water. Oh, a lion is running to them. It looks very hungry. Help!

I’m Wang Gang. I’m an English teacher. I go to work from Monday to Friday. I usually get up at 6:00 in the morning. Then I do morning exercises. I eat breakfast at 7:00. After breakfast I go to work. I usually have two classes in the morning and one in the afternoon. I usually play sports at 4:00 p.m. I go home at 5:30. After dinner I usually watch TV and read some books. Then I go to bed at 10:00 p.m.

It’s Sunday morning . There are many children in the park. They are having a good time .
Some children are climbing hills. Some are playing games under the tree. Some are singing and dancing. Others are swimming in the lake. But Tim is sitting by the lake. He is reading books. Helen is running after a butterfly. She wants to catch it.

Amy: When is your birthday?
Ben: It’s on May 7th. How about you?
Amy: My birthday is on September 27th.
Ben: It’s Mid-Autumn Day this year.
Amy: Really? That’s great. What do you usually do on Mid-Autumn Day?
Ben: We eat mooncakes. My favourite festival is Mid-Autumn Day.
Amy: My favourite festival is April Fool’s Day.
Ben: Why?
Amy: Because it’s a funny day.

Steven is a good basketball player in his school. He is tall and strong. He usually gets up at 6:15 in the morning ,then he eats his breakfast at 6:30. At 7:00, he goes to school by bike . He does morning exercises at 8:45 . He likes English very much. He has an English class at 9:40. His English teacher is Miss Ye. Her class is so much fun. Steven plays basketball at 4:30 after school. He goes home at 5:45. He eats dinner at 6:20. He always goes to bed before 9:00. So he can have a good sleep and get up early in the next morning.

This is our school library. It’s a busy place. It’s open from 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning and from 2:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon.
Our school library isn’t very big. Only three assistants work here. In the library we can find all kinds of books . But few of them are in English. We often come here to borrow or return books after class.
When we borrow books, we must obey(遵守) the library rules. We can borrow only one and keep it for two weeks. If we can’t finish it in time, we may come and renew (续借)it. There’s a reading room in the library . It’s bright and clean. We can read magazines and newspapers there , but we can’t take any of them out.
When we are in the library , we should be quiet. We can’t eat or drink in the library.

I am a policeman. I work at night. I go to work by motorbike at 6:00 in the evening. I eat dinner at 6:30. If I am busy, I’ll eat later. I usually go home at 6:00 in the morning. Then I do morning exercises . At 7:00, I eat breakfast. After breakfast, I go to bed. I usually get up at 1:30 in the afternoon. I eat lunch at 2:00. At 3:00, I play sports. At 5:00, I usually do some cooking for my wife and my son. This is my day. I enjoy my life.

In China , there are four seasons in a year. Spring begins first. Summer is the second. Then it’s autumn. Winter comes the last. The weather in different cities is not the same in winter. It’s very cold in Jilin. It often snows. People can play with snow and they must wear warm clothes. But in Hainan, it’s very warm. People can swim in the sea.

It’s a fine day. The sky is blue . Now it is nine o’clock in the morning. There is a sports meet in the forest .
Look ! A horse, a zebra and a deer are running. Over there a lion and two tigers are jumping. Two monkeys are climbing a tree. Four birds are flying around and singing.
There are some other animals, too. The elephants are standing. A monkey is sitting on an old elephant. The monkey has a flag. Some cocks are sitting in the trees. A tiger , a baby lion and some small animals are sitting under the tree. They are all watching this sports meet.

B: Good. What will you do in April then?
A: In April, there is a sports meet and an Easter party.
B: Cool! And in May?
A: There is a school trip and a dancing contest.
B: Do you have any tests?
A: Yes, I do . There is a maths test in April. I’ll work hard.
