The performances were undoubtedly of high quality, which made the concert almost no different from a live one.The performers demonstrated music in a way that touched the depths of the audience’s soul, giving them a feeling of connection. Fascinated by the remarkable performances, audience present enjoyed every second of the concert and responded with thunderous applause. The concert was thought highly of. Not only did it offer the students a platform to showcase their talents in music, but it also enabled us to be deeply immersed in the charm of music. (25’) One possible version : The father ended his call and returned to the counter with a heavy heart. He was about to explain to the agent that he needed more time to sort out the issue when she turned to him with a smile and said, “ Your daughter’s ticket has been taken care of by that lady.” Confusion and thankfulness played across the father’s face. He followed the direction of the agent’s hand and spotted the departing woman. He caught up with her, thanked her and asked for her name so he could repay her later.“You don’t need to worry about repaying me,” she said softly. “Just take care of your little one.” Tears welled up in the father’s eyes after he heard the woman’s kind words. He insisted on knowing her name and somehow repaying this selfless act. But the woman shook her head, saying,“ We all need some help sometimes. I’m grateful to have the chance to do somebody a favour.” The father nodded, feeling a connection with a stranger who had restored his faith in the kindness of humanity. The woman’s act of generosity touched everyone who bore witness, reminding them that wherever they might be, there is always someone who genuinely cares about others . Text 1 M: Shall we sit at the back? Text7 M: Did you ever win anything, Mary? W: Well, yes, I did. I came in first in this little competition in the local newspaper, and it was in this competition that you had to, um, finish the sentence “School is...” and design a poster. M: Right. W: Because I was quite a good student at the time, I said “School is the key to a new and better world”. M: So how old were you then? W: It was ten years ago, and I was eleven. M: Oh, right. So what did you win then? W: I won a 20-dollar gift certificate to Hathaway House Bookshop, and I spent the whole summer there because twenty dollars was quite a lot then. I still have the books that I bought there. M: Lucky you. Text 8 W: Police station. Can I help you? M: Yes, I’m calling to tell you I found a car. I thought it might be a stolen car. W: I see. M: And there’s a little problem with the gas water heater. W: Ah ha... M: The switch is broken. It’s not serious and we can still use it. But you know, sometimes we are just chilled to the bone when taking a shower if it is out of order. If you can send somebody over in the next couple of weeks or so, that’d be great. W: OK, I’ve got that. Text 10 W: Winter was approaching. Jason was excited about the coming season. It was his favorite time of the year. He loved cold weather and snow. During winter he always played with snow, even as an adult. Jason would gather his family and friends at the park, where they had snowball fights. It was a lot of fun. His favorite holiday Christmas came in winter. This was another reason why Jason loved winter. Every year, he bought presents for his friends and family. Jason loved seeing the look on their faces when they unwrapped their Christmas presents. It was better to give than to receive, Jason thought. Jason loved everything about Christmas. He loved Christmas music. He loved playing with his children under the Christmas tree. Jason sometimes even dressed up as Santa Claus for fun and entertained his children. Jason could not stop thinking about winter. He could not wait any longer. However, it was barely in the middle of July... it was summer.
