This glossary is updated continuously. 4.1 DEFINITIONS The terms below are defined for the purposes of this standard. Their definitions will eventually be included in the DTI glossary (Nectar <<>>). Apoqua: The APOQUA approach (Amélioration du POste de montage par la QUAlité - fitting workstation improvement by quality) which aims to improve the fitting workstation in the factory by simplifying the fitters movements (reuced risk of error, reduced fitting time...). 4.2 ABREVIATIONS AND ACRONYMS BICD : Starter interface and control unit (Boitier d'interface et de commande démarreur) EUT : Equipment Under Test PPM : Parts Per Million RMA : Reference Material Approuved SPA : Specifications products approuved STT : Stop and Start DMTR : Holding voltage device 5 REQUIREMENTS 5.1 FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS STT-Starter-EC-ST-1 (0.3) Functional The starter must provide its function irrespective of its position and be capable of tolerating shocks and vibrations irrespective of their orientation without damage or operating error. 5.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS 5.2.1 Measurements to be made The aim is to confirm the starter's electrical performance compared to those requested during the tender process. STT-Starter-EC-ST-2 (0.6) Measurements to be made - For a measured pinion speed (using the method described in appendix 10), the pinion torque must be equal to or greater than those given for the service and safety performance in appendix 9 'Starter electrical performance'. - The starter's consumption must never be more than 780A with torque locked using the test method described in appendix 38. 5.3 EXTERNAL INTERFACE REQUIREMENTS 5.3.1 Starter pinion engagement The aim is to check if the starter pinion engages in the engine ring STT-Starter-EC-ST-3 (0.2) Starter pinion engagement The starter must comply with dimensions L1, L2, L3 as defined in appendix 1 'Starter pinion engagement'. 5.3.2 Resonance frequency The aim is to confirm that the starter does not start resonating at combustion engine speeds below their maximum rates. STT-Starter-EC-ST-4 (0.3) Resonance frequency The starter has to be in accordance with the standard B217120 §6.5 5.3.3 Switch characterisation 5.3.3.1 Integration of a holding voltage device Without DMTR : With a DMTR : Both configurations are possible. The supplier must be aware that the use of a DMTR may lead to a higher control current. 5.3.3.2 Tripping voltage (Uc) The aim is to confirm the ability of the starter operating with a low voltage in the on-board network. STT-Starter-EC-ST-5 (0.6) Tripping voltage (Uc) The Uc measured using the test method described in appendix 3 must be lower than the value specified in the following tables: Table N° 1 : Normal use Table N° 2 : Special cases : Specified in the functional drawing When power contact closure is obtained, the magnetic circuit must remain closed (the switch must not work as a 'push button') 5.3.3.3 Release voltage (Ud) The aim is to confirm the abili
