Driving a car is not just handling controls and judging speed and distance.It requires you to predict what other road users will do and get ready to react to something unexpected. When alcohol is consumed，it enters your bloodstream and acts as a depressant抑制药)，damaging eyesight，judgment and co­ordination(协调)，slowing down reaction time and greatly increasing the risk of accidents. Even below the drink driving link，driving will be affected.
Alcohol may take a few minutes to be absorbed into the bloodstream and start action on the brain. Absorption rate is increased when drinking on an empty stomach or when consuming drinks mixed with fruit juice. To get rid of alcohol from the body is a very slow process and it is not possible to speed it up with any measures like taking a shower or having a cup of tea or coffee.
The present Road Traffic Ordinance states clearly that the limit of alcohol concentration is：
●50 milligrams of alcohol per 100ml of blood；or
●22 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath；or
●67 milligrams of alcohol per 100ml of urine(尿液)．
Drivers who cause traffic accidents，or who commit a moving traffic offence or are being suspected of drink driving will be tested.
Any drive found drinking beyond the limit will be charged. The driver declared guilty may be fined a maximum of HK $25，000 and be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison and punished for 10 driving­offence points；or temporarily banned from driving.
The same punishment applies to failing to provide specimens(样本)for breath，blood or urine tests without good excuse.
Drink driving is a criminal offence. Be a responsible driver，think before you drink. For the safety of yourself and other road users，never drive after consuming alcohol.

Ever since the Back to the Future movies lit up our screens in the 1980s，designers have dreamt of cars that could take to the sky at the push of a button(按钮)．And now pilots can order their own“roadable” plane for just ￡127，000.

When the driver stops at a traffic light，the engine automatically shuts off to save fuel. Then，as soon as the driver puts the car in gear and touches the gas pedal，the engine starts back up.
Have you ever ridden in a car with someone who ran out of gas？That probably wouldn't happen if you were riding in a hybrid car. It flashes a warning on its computer screen that says, “I am low on gas”．When it completely runs out，the warning reads，“YOU ARE NOW OUT OF GAS！”Then the electric power supply kicks in to let the driver travel a few more miles to a gas station.

This week，the City of Westminster will start putting the first of 3，000 sensors into the streets. They will be in the ground by the end of March，made London the world first major city to have the“smart parking”revolution.
An idea is simple. Drivers spend an average of 15 minutes searching a space in Westminster—which with Parliament，the main shopping district，and dozen of tourist sites，is the heart of London. If drivers know where the empty spaces are there，they won't have to search the streets for one.
Other cities，most famous San Francisco，have experimented with“smart parking” and companies from France to America was developing the technology. Thus San Francisco turned off their sensors on 30 Dec.2013，and is now evaluating the results of its program. Westminster is going at full speed，fixing 50 sensors a day with a team of three men. Boroughs in Manchester and Birmingham are also trying out the system.
Each sensor in the ground detects when a car is parked on the street above it. The information is then sent to the public through a smartphone app.
Westminster has 10，000 parking places that visitors can use. The first part of the program will see 3，000 sensors，each with a battery life of five to seven years.
The list of benefits is long：Apart from reducing traffic，fuel consumption，and emissions from cars，it improves the local economy as people spend more time in shops，restaurants and offices rather than on the street.
Fitsall says the information will finally be fed into London's transport information network，so shen drivers look up how to get into town，they'll be able to see driving and parking times just as they an now get grain journey times and walking distances to stations. That could make London a model for other cities.
