I have ten friends. Most of them are men. One
friend has a pencil. One friend has a pen. When do
we become friends? March the tenth.
(板书when，pen，ten，friend，pencil，men)
2. T：Boys and girls，what do you find in these words？
(Ss： They all have the letters “en”)

T: What sound does it make?
Ss: /en/.
T: That’s good. Now try to read these two words : Ben, hen, Ken.
5. T teaches the Ss to read all the six words.
6. Ss follow the tape, then read together.

III. Chant
1.Ask the Ss to listen to the chant：Ken and Ben
2. Ss follow the T to read the lyrics.
3. Ss chant by themselves.
4. Ss chant with the tape.
