1a Looking and writing
On page 63 you will find pet animals. Which would be good pets? Which would be bad pets?

Warming up by defining pet
What is a pet?
A pet or companion animal is an animal that is kept by humans for companionship and enjoyment, rather than for economic reasons. The most popular are noted for their loyal or playful characteristics or their beautiful appearance or song.
1b Doing groupwork
Do you keep a pet? What do you know about pets? Now talk about pets in groups of four.

2a Listening and numbering

3a Reading and answering
On page 64 is an article. You will go on to read it to answer the two questions.
While reading you have to cut/ the sentences into thought groups, blacken the predicates, underline the useful expressions and darken the connectives.
After school copy all the useful expressions into your Expression-Book.
