Hello, class! Look at me. Am I lovely? Am I slim? Am I rude? Am I cheerful? Am I polite? Am I smart? Am I worried? These are some of the descriptive adjectives used to describe the quality of a person. Now let’s go to Module 7, on page 56, to learn more about Feelings and impressions.

■Listening and vocabulary
1 Listen and number the pictures．
On page 56 you see five pictures. Now listen and number the pictures．
2 Match the sentences with the pictures.
There are five sentences and five pictures on page 56. Read the sentences and match the sentences with the pictures.
3 Listen and read.
Tony, Daming and Betty are having a small talk. That is, they are talking about something unimportant.
Now listen to their talk first, paying attention to the pronunciation, stress, and the intonation of the native speakers.
For the second listening, try to read aloud the conversation to the tape while listening.
Now let’s go on to read the conversation. While reading try to cut(断句)/ the sentences into parts, blacken（涂黑） the predicates, shade（加影） the connectives and underline （划线）the expressions.
Now write all the expressions in your Expression Book.

Lingling: Not yet. It is not finished. Have some water first.
Tony: Mmm, The poem is interesting. Try reading aloud of this poems, Daming!
Daming: They read so nice to my ears. I do like them.
Linging: Pass me the tapes on the desk. Do they look nice?
Betty: Yes, they’re fine. Here, Daming, try reading aloud some of the English poems. What's the
matter? You look worried.
Daming: Sorry, I don't like English poems. They are too difficult for me to understand.
Lingling: Hey! That's a nice MP4, Tony. And that's a lovely radio, too. It feels very soft.
Tony: Yes, I've just bought them. The MP4 feels very comfortable, too.
Betty: You look very smart. What are you doing today?
Tony: I’m going to the theater with my mother. We’re going to watch a play by Guan Hanqin.
Lingling: What’s it like？
Tony: I don’t know. We haven’t seen it，but my dad says it is very nice．
4 Answer the questions·
On page 57 you read eight questions. Now in pairs try to ask and answer them.
1 What smells delicious？The pizza with tomatoes and onions smells delicious.
2 What smells sweet? Some chocolate cookies smell sweet.
3 What tastes sweet？The melon tastes sweet.
4 What tastes strong？The onion tastes strong.
5 What smells fresh? The milk smells fresh.
6 Who looks worried? Daming looks worried.
7 What feels soft and comfortable? The sweater feels soft and comfortable.
8 Who looks smart? Tony looks smart.
