2、on A, in Book I B. The title is "What does he look like?" I will explain this lesson from the following parts: 1. teaching material analysis, 2. teaching aims analysis, 3. Ss analysis, 4. teaching and learning methods analysis, 5. teaching procedures analysis. Now let’s begin with part I teaching

3、 material analysis. I. Teaching material analysis In this unit, the main topic and teaching key point is "talking about people's looks". The main topic is closely related to the Ss' daily life, so it can inspire the Ss' learning interests in communicating with each other in reality. In this situa

4、tion, it will be helpful for the Ss to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This lesson is the first period of unit 7. It's an important course at the same time. In our daily life, we usually need to describe other people to introduce somebody or explain some circumstances. T

5、oday in this lesson, we will learn how to ask and describe people's looks. First, the Ss will learn the new words about people's appearance at first. Then, the Ss will learn the target language to ask and describe people's image. The Ss have learned the usage of present tense and the word "like" in

6、the first term of Grade 7. In this lesson, the Ss will still learn the usage of present tense, and learn the different usage between "like" and "look like", especially, the different usage between "is" and "has". This is the consolidation and extension of the learning contents. II. Teaching aims a

7、nalysis According to the teaching material and the Ss' knowledge level characters, I establish the following teaching aims: 1. Knowledge aims: The Ss must master the new vocabularies and sentences. 1. New words tall, short, medium, height, thin, heavy, build, curly, straight, hair, like 2. T

11、e's own ideals or preference. 3. Emotion objects: 1. Lead the Ss to realize that don't judge the people by their appearance and to recognize the importance of talking about other's looks politely. 2. Inspire the Ss' interests. Set up the Ss' self-confidence. 3. Let the Ss establish their own

16、ompletely in reality. III. Ss analysis Junior students in Grade 7 are active, lively and independent. They are interested in the new things. And they have strong memory and imitation abilities. Most of the Ss have the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. While a small percent

17、ages of the Ss still have some difficulties in completing these tasks accurately, because they lack vocabularies. IV. Teaching and learning methods analysis According to the requirement of the new curriculum standard and the analysis of the Ss, I will use the methods of creating situation, playi

18、ng guessing games and the method of task-based teaching. These methods will lead the Ss to learn the new words and the target language step by step. Using these methods can provide the Ss more opportunities to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English, that is to say, "lear

19、ning by using, learn for using". In 45 minutes, in order to attract Ss' attention, inspire Ss' interest and make the class more lively and timesaving, I'll also use CAI courseware to present parts of the teaching contents. With the help of the various pictures, more Ss will participate in the tea

20、ching activities actively, so that they can learn faster and more accurately. In this situation, it's more significant for Ss to preview text by themselves before class. After the preview, the Ss may grasp the new words faster and more accurately. So the preview is a good learning method. But list

21、ening and speaking are still needed more cooperation practice. There are the other two methods following: ① " Experience — Practice — Reflection — Feedback " is the best way for the students to study. This learning strategy is based on the 5p teaching method, that is to say, " preparation — present

22、ation — practice — production — progress ". ② Pair works. The aim we learn English is for communication, so it’s very important for Ss to practice communicating abilities. Pair work can give Ss the chances to make dialogues about themselves. Now I am going to talk about the teaching procedures.

23、 V. Teaching procedures analysis Step 1. Preparation 1. Warming-up ① Sing the English song "How is the weather?" ② Greetings (唱英文歌曲可以活跃课堂气氛,师生简短问候可以拉近师生距离,让学生进入积极的学习状态。) 2. Revision T: What day is it today? S1: Today is ... T: What's the weather like today? S2: It's ... T: Do you have

24、 a pen pal? S3: Yes, I have. (尽量选择外貌特征矮胖的男生,为后续对话做铺垫。) T: Where is your pen pal from? S3: He/She is from/comes from ... T: Ah, I think you're an interesting person. I like you. I also want to be your friend, OK? S3: OK. (复习What/Where引导的特殊疑问句以及一般现在时句子谓语结构的运用,激活学生已有的旧知识,为感知新的语言知识打下基础。) Step 2

25、 Presentation 1. Present the new words "short, heavy, hair". T points at S3 (Step1 中的学生) and says to the whole Ss: Now class, I have a new friend. Please look at my new friend. What does he look like? Is he short? (T用手势表达short的意思, T acts out the movement.) T helps the Ss answer: "He is short."

26、Then the Ss repeat "He is short." one by one. T still points at S3 (Step1 中的学生) and says to the whole Ss: What does he look like? Is he heavy? (T用手势表达heavy,hair的意思) T helps the Ss answer: "He is heavy, and he has short hair." Then the Ss repeat "He is heavy, and he has short hair." one by one.
