※ 关于"fish(鱼)"
提起fish，它给人们的第一印象便是指 ''鱼''，实际上它的用法并非如此简单。
fish用作可数名词指''鱼的条数''时单数和复数形式相同（two fish两条鱼），指''鱼的种类''时复数形式才为fishes（two fishes两种鱼）；fish用作不可数名词时无复数形式，应作''鱼肉''解（Help yourself to some fish．随便吃些鱼。）；fish用作动词时，它的含义又与''钓（捕）鱼''有关（go fishing去钓鱼）。
在英语口语里，fish还常常被用来指''人''，类似于汉语里的''家伙、东西''等。如：a poor fish（可怜虫），a big fish（大亨），a cool fish（无耻之徒），a strange fish（奇人、怪人），a loose fish（放荡鬼）等。但必须注意的是，fish用来指人时形象虽然鲜明，但往往含有贬义。
由fish构成的习语也非常生动有趣。如：fish in the air本意为''空中钓鱼''，喻指''方法（向）不对而达不到目的''，相当于汉语中的成语''缘木求鱼''。又如：like a fish out of water喻指''如鱼离水、感到生疏''，feel the fishes喻指''葬身鱼腹；晕船''。
含fish的一些谚语更加赋有哲理性。如：
1．Never offer to teach fish to swim. 不要班门弄斧.（原意为：决不要教鱼游泳。）
2．The best fish smell bad when they are three days old. 久居别家招人嫌。（原意为：鱼过三天就要臭。）
3．He who would catch fish must not mind getting wet. 不入虎穴，焉得虎子。（原意为：捉鱼不要怕鞋湿。）
4．There are as many good fish in the sea as ever came out of it. 纵然失去一个机会，不愁没有其他机会。（原意为：海里的好鱼是取之不尽的。）

1.申请许可
　Wouldn't it be possible for me to take the day off this Friday? (这个星期五，我是否可以休一天假?)
请休假用take the day off。如果是两天以上就用days off。老板会很干脆地答应说that'll be OK，或是会带有不悦意味回答Will everything be all right?（一切都安排就绪了吗？），这些都要看你平时的工作表现而定。

2.提议
　I think we need to buy a new copier.（我想我们需要买一台新的复印机）
说出上句之前，必须说明our copying machine has broken down again.（复印机又出毛病了）以作为提案的依据。客气一些的提议，用suggest如I would suggest we buy a new copier.

3.表示了解上司的指示
Yes, I understand.（我明白了）
也可用Yes, right away（好的，马上去做），对上司说OK，或 all right并不恰当。很忙时，说I'm sorry, but I'm busy now. Could I do it later?

4.确认上司指示的内容
　You did say next Tuesday at 2:00 P.M.,didn't you?（您是说在下星期二下午２点，是不是？）
任何事都必须确认一下。如果对方是外国人更要如此。上句也可直截了当地说let me confirm
（让我确认一下时间和日期）

5.报告商谈结果
　I had a feeling he was in favor of the plan.（我觉得他赞成那个计划）
记住I have a feeling (that)...（我觉得……），及……（that ) he was against the plan.（他反对那个计划）这两句话都很管用。

※ Clear Your Mental Space (静心)
　　Think about the last time you felt a negative emotion---like stress, anger, or frustration. What was going through your mind as you were going through that negativity? Was your mind cluttered with thoughts? Or was it paralyzed, unable to think?
The next time you find yourself in the middle of a very stressful time, or you feel angry or frustrated, stop. Yes, that’s right, stop. Whatever you’re doing, stop and sit for one minute. While you’re sitting there, completely immerse yourself in the negative emotion.
Allow that emotion to consume you. Allow yourself one minute to truly feel that emotion. Don’t cheat yourself here. Take the entire minute---but only one minute-to do nothing else but feel that emotion.
When the minute is over, ask yourself, “Am I wiling to keep holding on to this negative emotion as I go through the rest of the day?”Once you’ve allowed yourself to be totally immersed in the emotion and really fell it, you will be surprised to find that the emotion clears rather quickly.
If you feel you need to hold on to the emotion for a little longer, that is OK. Allow yourself another minute to feel the emotion.
When you feel you've had enough of the emotion, ask yourself if you’re willing to carry that negativity with you for the rest of the day. If not, take a deep breath. As you exhale, release all that negativity with your breath.
This exercise seems simple---almost too simple. But, it is very effective. By allowing that negative emotion the space to be truly felt, you are dealing with the emotion rather than stuffing it down and trying not to feel it. You are actually taking away the power of the emotion by giving it the space and attention it needs. When you immerse yourself in the emotion, and realize that it is only emotion, it loses its control. You can clear your head and proceed with your task.
Try it. Next time you’re in the middle of a negative emotion, give yourself the space to feel the emotion and see what happens. Keep a piece of paper with you that says the following:
Stop. Immerse for one minute. Do I want to keep this negativity? Breath deep, exhale, release. Move on!
This will remind you of the steps to the process. Remember; take the time you need to really immerse yourself in the emotion. Then, when you feel you’ve felt it enough, release it---really let go of it. You will be surprised at how quickly you can move on from a negative situation and get to what you really want to do!

　　On December 31, 2002, China won the bid to hosting Expo 2010.This is the first General Exhibition hosted by a developing country; However, China has a long-standing relationship with World Expo. Chinese people have participated in World Expo since its first presence. After wining its liberation, the People’s Republic of China has taken part in 12 world expositions. Chinese exhibits won many prizes in previous world expositions.
