Step 1
Leading in
Have a free talk with the students about the great sportsmen or sportswomen in China, find out what they wear in common and thus introduce the topic today.

Step 2
Fast-reading:
Read for main idea.
Tell the students to read the text fast and try to decide what it talks about. Offer them five different aspects to choose from.
1. Read the text and make their choices.

在这一环节中训练学生的快读技巧，通过快读选文章主题，有利于学生快速抓住文章主要内容和框架结构，达到对文本的整体感知。

Careful reading:
Read for details.

1. Tell students to read paragraph one, pick out the information to complete the sentences and sort out examples from the topic.
2. Tell students to read and understand paragraphs 2—4, make up some questions in groups to ask other classmates.
3. Tell students to read paragraph 5 by themselves. Then check the students’ understanding of this part.

1．通过细读提炼第一段的细节内容，指导学生把主题和例子分开，进行写作技巧的指导。
2．在对文本有透彻理解的基础上，学生以小组活动的形式自编问题向其他小组提问， 让学生成为学习的主体。学生通过合作学习来培养自己处理信息的能力，达到资源共享。在设置问题时提示学生关注wh-关键信息，把握文章主要内容。
3．DIY这一环节的设计充分体现学生在课堂上的主体地位；通过检测引领学生梳理本段大意。

总结李宁的发展历程，提炼主题“Make the Change”. 引导学生讨论自己的梦想以及在面对逆境时李宁给我们的启迪。
