Key sentences: Let’s see the pandas first。
Why do you want to see the pandas?
Because they’re very cute.

1）Be able to describe animals.
2）Learn to express preferences and give reasons.

Love animals and protect animals.

A tape recorder and some pictures of animals.

六、Teaching procedures
Step 1 : Warming up
1. Teacher plays some sounds of animals. Then let students guess what kind of animals they are.(such as tigers, monkeys…).
2. Teacher and students:
T: What animals do you like?
Ss: …
T: Why do like …?
Step 2 : Learn new words
Present the new words by showing the pictures of animals. Then learn new words together.
Step 3 Section A 1a
1. Read the new words loudly (after the tape).
2. Look at the picture and match the words with the animals.
3. Share the answers with the class.
4. Learn the conversation in the picture.
Step 4 listening Section A 1b
1. Play the tape. Have students listen and do 1b.
2. Play the tape again .Let students listen to the tape carefully and check the answers they hear in 1a
3. Check the answers.
4. Have students read the conversations after the tape.
Step 5 Learn words of adjective

1. Learn these adjectives: cute. fun. lazy interesting. smart.beautiful.
2. Point to the picture of animals and say “They are cute /fun/lazy...”
Step 6 Learn to make conversations
1. Show koalas to class and then present:
A: Let’s see the koalas first.
B: Why do you want to see the koalas?
A: Because they are interesting.
2.Have students practice making conversations. Teach: want to do something.

1. Show pictures to students and let them practice with their partners.
2. Ask a few groups to act out their conversations to the class.

2.Write a passage about your favorite animals.
