Albert was an ordinary worker in an oil company in America. His workmates gave a nickname (绰号) “Four dollars a bucket (桶)” to him, for he was always used to leaving an advertisement of his company “ Four dollars a bucket of oil” below his name whenever and wherever he wrote down his name.
As time went by, people forgot his real name. Later, when Rockefeller, the board chairman of the oil company, heard of it, he was very surprised, so he invited Albert to come to his office.
“Some people give you a nickname for ‘Four dollars a bucket’. Why aren’t you angry?” Asked Rockefeller with some puzzlement in his eyes.
“ Oh! Mr. Rockefeller! I like this nickname very much, because ‘Four dollars a bucket’ is our company’s advertisement. As long as someone calls me ‘Four dollars a bucket’ once, I think it’s a free advertisement for our company. I have no reason to get angry. Don’t you think so, Mr. Rockefeller?"

For centuries, people wondered how big the Earth was. Unfortunately, although the Earth was flat, no one was able to figure out its size. Gradually, however, people began to realize that the Earth was really round.
Then, in the third century BC ( 2,300 years ago), a Greek man named Eratosthenes had an idea. Eratosthenes was sure that the Earth was a sphere. He used the sun and geometry (几何学) to figure out the size of the Earth. He calculated that the circumference (圆周) of the Earth was 28,600 miles ( 46,000 kilometers). Actually, The true size of the Earth is 25,000 miles ( 40,000 kilometers ).
Eratosthenes’s measurement was wrong, but it was very close to the truth.
For many centuries after Eratosthenes lived, people made maps of the Earth. However, they did not know very much about the world outside of Europe, Asia and North Africa. Mapmakers could not draw accurate maps of the Earth until people began traveling around the world in the fifteenth century, mapping small areas each time. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, people began making correct maps of countries, but the first accurate maps of the world were not made until the 1890s.

In Armenia, when a baby’s first tooth arrives, often in four to seven months, a celebration takes place known as the “agra hadig” or “atam hatik”. As part of the celebration, objects related to different professions are placed in front of a child. Whichever object a baby chooses first is thought to be a sign of where the child’s professional talent lies.
With the appearances of teeth, a child can begin to eat solid food. It is believed to be a proper time to predict what the future holds.
“ Parents may ‘arrange’ the future life of their children by offering only those objects that stand for respectable professions,” said Professor Antonyan from Yerevan State University. “ A book for writer; a pencil for an artist or a designer; a coin for a businessman.” Parents can also game the selection by putting objects nearer to or farther from their kids’ reach. At one recent celebration, “ the father of the baby asked to place a ladle(长柄勺) a bit far from his daughter to save her from a future of a housewife,” Antonyan said.
In the earliest written records of the event, from the 19th century, just two objects were put before the teething child. But the prediction then was not about an adult profession. In the event, holding a knife meant a brother was on the way, a comb or a mirror meant a sister.
“The prediction for the future profession was developed in the modernized environment of Soviet Armenia when the future career would determine the baby’s life,” Antonyan said. Today, teeth-shaped cakes, toys and balloons are popular party favors at these celebrations.
