Chen Yuanchun is a teacher at rural (乡村的) primary school in Cangyuan, Yunnan Province.
The 44-year-old woman teaches Chinese, but she is very interested in computer technology. She has introduced coding (编程) to her students as an important information technology skill.
Chen’s connection to coding began in November, 2018. She became one of the first teachers in Cangyuan to take training courses on coding. The training was challenging for a beginner like Chen. She needed to learn how to tell a machine to perform actions and finish tasks through different orders. She worked very hard because she believed this skill would be useful for her students.

While living in China, I have learned new things about vegetables. Although many vegetables here are not new to me, the way they are cooked is quite different.
I had eaten eggplant in Australia before, but as soon as I tried a Chinese-style eggplant dish, I felt like I was eating a new type of vegetable.     On February 6, 2023, an earthquake hit Turkey and Syria (土耳其和叙利亚). It had a magnitude (震级) of 7.8. By February 14, the earthquake had killed more than 36,000 people. Tens of thousands of people were also injured.
The earthquake happened in Turkey near its border (边境) with Syria. It was the strongest earthquake to have hit Turkey in more than 80 years. It even caused shaking 8S far away as Egypt.
