Chapter 2 Two Geniuses-Reading
一、 章节分析（Reading section ）
（一）综述
本单元向我们讲述了发生在爱因斯坦身上真实的事情。并不是我们想象中的大科学家治学的故事，而是他跟大家开了一场玩笑，反映出他幽默的一面。
1 先确定Main characters? Setting? Time? Place?
再理清storyline：Beginning? Development? Climax? Ending?
这样也为之后的写作做好铺垫。
2 可以利用文章中的图片预测故事，或让学生阅读到某一段停下，关上课本，对接下去的故事情节进行预测。

3 可以引导学生讨论什么样的人算是天才。天赋就等于成功么？
也可以引导学生讨论生活或学习的方法。是不是额外需要一份好奇心、想象、创造力、甚至幽默？
（二）阅读目标
1 知识目标
学习课文中重点词、词组、句型和语法。
2 能力目标
提高学生的阅读理解能力和培养学生的想象力。了解故事体裁的必备要素。
3 情感目标
帮助学生对how to treat the genius you are born with?以及how to live a life?有一定的思考。

梳理课文：
l 简单地介绍一下爱因斯坦。可以借助课后练习D2(一石二鸟:既引入课文，又引出新单词)。(第一段)

(分别是：genius, universe, nuclear)
l 引述爱因斯坦的一些名言，看看他有没有我们所未知的一面。(第二段)
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." 得知：He had curiosity, and so he was very curious.
"When you sit with a nice girl for two hours, it seems like two minutes. When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, it seems like two hours that's relativity." 得知：He had a sense of humor.
l 接着，可以让学生鸟瞰整个故事。问：Who is the other genius? What’s the relations between the two geniuses?等等。(第三段)

Veronica had two kids, one boy and one girl. Her children did their homework without being told. They got straight A’s in school. They ate all their vegetables without complaining.
Veronica got home at 4:30 p.m. today. Her kids gave her a kiss and a hug. She went upstairs and changed into shorts and a T-shirt. When she returned, the kids were waiting for her in the living room to talk about their day in school.
Marvin, 10, said that today his biology teacher helped them cut up dead frogs. They smelled bad, but he enjoyed seeing their little body parts, like their lungs and heart. “I like biology,” Marvin said. “I want to be a biologist, an animal doctor, and an inventor when I grow up. I’m going to invent a pill so that animals all learn to live together without eating each other all the time.”
“You’re crazy!” exclaimed Rebecca. “What are the animals going to eat if they don’t eat each other?”
“You don’t know anything. You’re a girl and you’re only nine,” taunted Marvin.
“Marvin, be polite to your sister,” Veronica admonished.
“Yes, ma’am,” he said. “I apologize, dear little sister.”
“That didn’t sound very sincere, mommy,” Rebecca complained.
“Okay, here’s how I’ll keep the animals from eating each other. I already thought of that, of course. The solution is a pill that will make all animals like to eat grass, like the cows and sheep do. That way no more animals will eat each other, and kids won’t have to mow the lawn any more. So, that will kill two birds with one stone.”
“Well, that’s very clever,” Veronica told Marvin.
“Now, tell us about your day, Rebecca,” Veronica said.
“Well, as you know, mommy, I’m going to be a real doctor like you, not a mad scientist like somebody I know,” Rebecca started, and then stuck her tongue out at her brother.

Einstein and his students: In the period that Einstein was active as a professor, one of his students came to him and said: "The questions of this year's exam are the same as last years!" "True," Einstein said, "but this year all answers are different."
Einstein and German music: Einstein was attending a music salon in Germany before the Second World War, with the violinist S. Suzuki. Two Japanese women played a German piece of music and a woman in the audience exclaimed: "How wonderful! It sounds so German!" Einstein responded: "Madam, people are all the same."
Einstein in Heaven:
Einstein dies and goes to heaven only to be informed that his room is not yet ready. "I hope you will not mind waiting in a dormitory. We are very sorry, but it's the best we can do and you will have to share the room with others." he is told by the doorman (say his name is Pete). Einstein says that this is no problem at all and that there is no need to make such a great fuss. So Pete leads him to the dorm. They enter and Albert is introduced to all of the present inhabitants. " See, here is your first room mate. He has an IQ of 180!" "Why that's wonderful!" says Albert. "We can discuss mathematics!" "And here is your second room mate. His IQ is 150!" "Why that's wonderful!" says Albert. "We can discuss physics!" "And here is your third room mate. His IQ is 100!" "That’s wonderful! We can discuss the latest plays at the theater!" Just then another man moves out to capture Albert's hand and shake it. "I'm your last room mate and I'm sorry, but my IQ is only 80." Albert smiles back at him and says, "So, where to you think interest rates are headed?"
