● 1.例句：He purchased a vase for 300,000 dollars. 他花了30万美元买了只花瓶。
purchase sth. for some money 意为“花…钱买…”，可与以下三个句型相互转换：
1） Sb. spend(s) some money on sth.
2） Sb. pay(s) some money for sth.
3） Sth. cost(s) sb. some money.
故上面的例句可分别转换为以下句子：
1) He spent 300,000 dollars on a vase.
2) He paid 300,000 dollars for a vase.
3) A vase cost him 300,000 dollars.
另外，Sb. spend(s) some time (in) doing sth. 可转换成 It takes sb. some time to do sth.
练一练：
1) We spent several hours discussing the plan.

动词不定式及其用法

一、不定式的构成：
肯定式： to do 否定式：not to do
二、不定式的用法：
动词不定式在句中可充当主语、表语、宾语、宾补、定语和状语等。
(一)不定式结构作表语
常用于以下结构：
My wish/ job/ aim/ goal / ambition is to …及The next step is …等。例如：
Your job is to type the papers in the office.
Her ambition is to be a writer.
My wish is to have a house of my own.

(二) 不定式结构作宾语
★ agree, need, begin, start, decide，expect, hope, wish, fail, happen, help, learn, like, love, offer, plan, promise, want, forget, remember, stop, would like, manage 等动词后接动词不定式作宾语。例如：
They decided to build a highway between these two cities.
She offered to help me when I was in trouble.
Don’t forget to send the letter.
★ 有些动词后可接不定式，也可接动名词，但意义不同，如：forget, remember, stop等。
特殊疑问词+不定式，做宾语
eg.I can’t decide what to do.
I want to know how to do it.
I don’t know where to go.

(三)不定式结构作宾语补足语
★ allow，ask, invite, tell, want 等动词后接动词不定式作宾语补足语。
ask / tell / allow / invite / want sb. to do sth.
★ let, make, have, hear, see, watch, notice 等动词后接不带to的动词不定式作宾语补足语 。
let/make/have sb. (not) do sth.
see/hear/watch/notice sb. (not) do sth.
help sb. (to) do sth. had better (not) do
例如：Mother told me to boil the water before I drank it.
The greedy inn-keeper once made the poor bird dance twice a day.
Internet bars mustn’t let people under 18 in or let anybody watch bad things.
It’s time for sports. Let’s go bowling, shall we?
We’d better turn off our mobile phones. The meeting will start in a minute.

(四) 不定式结构作状语
I. 表示目的状语
We went there to see our grandparents.（目的）
in order to / so as to in order not to / so as not to
练一练：1.He gets up early every day so that he can get to school on time.
He gets up early every day ______ ______ to get to school on time.
2.We fight pollution so that we can keep the environment clean.
We fight pollution ______ ______ to keep the environment clean.
II. 表示结果状语
so …that 结果状语从句常用adj. + enough to do和 too + adj. + for sb. + to do改写为简单句
例如：Tom was so tired that he couldn’t do his homework last week.(改为简单句)
Tom was too tired to do his homework last week.
练一练：1.He is so short that he can’t reach the cup on the table．(改为简单句)
He is ______ short ______ ______the cup on the table．
2.John studies so efficiently that he can get good marks. (改为简单句)
John studies ______ ______ to get good marks.

(五) 不定式结构作主语
动词不定式作主语的常用句型有：
1. It is＋adj/ n. (＋for sb.／sth.) ＋ to do sth.
用于此句型的形容词有：easy, hard, difficult, possible, important, impossible, necessary, good, bad, exciting, interesting, surprising等。例如：
Is it possible to fly to the moon in a spaceship?
2. It is＋adj.＋of sb.＋to do sth.
该句型中只能使用描述某人的品德、特征的形容词，如： kind, nice, wise, silly, polite, friendly, foolish, clever等。

(六) 不定式结构作定语
动词不定式作定语，应位于所修饰词语之后，即作后置定语。例如：
Have you got anything to eat? (to eat修饰anything，位于其后)
★由only, first, last, next以及序数词或形容词最高级修饰的名词后，也常接不定式作定语。例如：
Who was the last one to leave the classroom last night?

(七) 省略“to”的动词不定式
下列情况不定式结构省to:　
1. 作感官动词see，watch，hear，feel，notice等的宾语补足语时。
2. 作使役动词make，let，have等的宾语补足语时。
3. help后的宾语补足语前可带to也可不带to。
4. “Will /Would you please …？”结构中，不定式省略to。
5. “had better（not）…”结构中，不定式省略to。

(八) 疑问词＋动词不定式
　　疑问词what，which，how，where，when等可以和动词不定式连用，构成不定式短语。常用于改写宾语从句为简单句.
例如：I don’t know what I should say.→I don’t know what to say.
