We should make sure the playground is safe for the children. It should be soft and thick enough, so when the children fall, they won't hurt too much. Things like water, rocks or broken glass might cause danger to the kids. Cleaners should check the playground from time to time and clear away these dangerous things. In fact, children themselves also need to help keep the playground clean and safe. That means each time after playing they should pick up the rubbish they've produced. If someone finds there is something wrong with the equipment (设施), he should report to the keeper of the playground, so people will come to fix it.
Teaching kids how to play safely is also very important. If they know the rules of the playground, they won't get hurt easily. For example, they should never push when others are on seesaws or swings. If someone is going to jump off some equipment, he should first look down to make sure no other kids are in the way. Of course, wearing right clothes may also help to keep safe. Clothes with strings (绳) can get caught on equipment which may hurt the kid badly.
In short, our kids can both enjoy themselves and be safe if we are working together to improve the situation. 。

   In today's highly informational and technological environment, it has become more important to have good communication skills. Here are some important steps to communicate effectively:
   Know what you want to say and why. Understand clearly the purpose of your message. Know to whom you are communicating and why.
     How will you say it? We all know that it's not always what you say, but how you say it, that matters. Begin by making eye contact. You show trust and confidence when you look at others in the eyes when you speak. Second, pay attention to your body language, since it can say so much more than your words. By standing with your arms easily at your side, you tell others that you are open to hearing what they have to say.
     Communication is a two-way street. After you have said what you have to say, stop and listen. Practise your listening skills. Be considerate of other speakers by waiting until they've finished. While others are talking, listen carefully and never cut them off.

Antarctica (南极洲) is the fifth largest on Earth. It is also the coldest, windiest, driest and highest. It is an ice-covered place where no large plants grow, and no land animals live there.Antarctica covers an area of more than 13.6 million square kilometres. It is nearly twice the size of Australia, or one-and-a-half times the size of the United States of America.
Antarctica does not belong to one country, and it has no government. People visit Antarctica – usually as tourists, or to do scientific research – but no one lives there all the time.
Antarctica was the last place to be discovered. It is not certain who first saw Antarctica, but sailors began to map Antarctica’s coast from their ships in the 1800s. The first proved landing was in the mid-1890s.
Over the next few years, several men tried but failed to reach the South Pole, which is the Earth’s southernmost point.
Finally, a team led by Norwegian Roald Amundsen reached the South Poe in 1911. By then, countries around the world were becoming more and more interested in the frozen place, and soon Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom had laid claim（声称）to parts of Antarctica.
As so many nations had made a claim to govern in Antarctica, it was clear that fighting might break out. Diplomats(外交官) from different countries wanted to stop a war from starting, so they began talking about a treaty for Antarctica. A treaty is a written agreement signed by two or more nations.
Several countries had already set up research stations in Antarctica where scientists could live and work. Most scientists worked during the summer months when it was not as cold as in winter. Scientists hoped a treaty would allow them to continue their work and to exchange information with scientists from other countries.
