Knowledge and abilities. ⑴ Learn to talk about how to get to places. ⑵ Learn to talk about the distance and time to get to sp.. 2. Process and methods: ⑴ communicative approach ⑵ Task-based teaching method, cooperative learning. 3. Emotion and attitude: Help the students raise learning interest of students, encourage them to cross the road safely.. Ⅱ. Teaching Key Points: Learn to use How questions correctly. Ⅲ. Teaching Difficult Points: Learn to use how, how long, how far questions correctly. Ⅳ. Teaching Procedures: Step1. Lead-in 1. Greet the students happily. T: Hello! Lucy , how do you usually get to school? S: I usually ride a bike to school. / I usually get to school by bike. T: How does Lucy usually get to school? Ss: She usually rides a bike to school. / She usually gets to school by bike. 2. Ask & answer like the above in pairs. Check some pairs.. Step2. Presenting Present the target language by asking and answering. T: Lucy, How long does it take to get to school? L : It takes about 15 minutes. T: How far is it from home to school? L : It’s only about two kilometers. Step3. Reading 1. Read the conversation in 2e and ask: ⑴. How does Jane/ Lisa get to school every day? ? ⑵. How far is it from Lisa’s home to school? (3). How long does the bus ride take? (4) How long does it take Jane to get to school? 2.Ss read the conversation and solve the questions above. 3. Ss read in pairs . Choose some pairs to act out in front of the class. 4. Ss read grammar focus. And make them discuss in pairs, trying to find out rules. Step4. Practicing 1. Role-play the conversation in pairs and act it out. 2, Do some exx. about How questions.. Step5. Testing 1. Make the questions with answers in 3a. 2. Use the given words to make questions in 3b. Step6. Homework Ask your classmates questions and write their names in the chart in 3c. And give a report in the next class.
