2. learn to say something about themselves such as names and phone number;
3. get some information from chart or messages by reading;

StepⅠPreparation
1. Greet the students: Hello! Nice to meet you!etc.
2. Revision
Ask and answer: Are you Li Hua? What’s your name? What’s his/her name? What’s your first name? What’s your last name?
设计意图:走进教室,亲切地问候学生,一下子拉近与学生的距离。在真实的情境中说英语,既激发学生学习的兴趣,营造了宽松和谐的学习氛围。接着通过问答活动复习旧知,自然地引入last name, first name这一新知,并板书在黑板。以学生的实际情况作答,充分理解last name 与 first name的概念。
StepⅡ Presentation(Pre-reading)
Look, guess and learn
(1) Show two pictures to get the students to guess what his/her name is. (Kobe Bryant, Michelle Obama , ) Meanwhile, present the first name and the last name.
设计意图:初一的学生好奇心强,对猜猜活动很感兴趣。所以以猜猜学生喜欢的篮球明星与名人的名字的活动形式,既复习询问告知名字的句型,又巧妙地呈现本课新的知识点:区分英语名字中 。(改: 中英文名字不同时出现,学生容易混淆;在导入部分充分辨析中文名字中的last name, first name, 这部分主要是外语名字)
(2) Show another two pictures to get the students to practice distinguishing the first name and the last name.(Peng Liyuan,)
设计意图:学生了解了first name 和last name后,马上呈现中美第一夫人的图片让学生描述她们的first name 和last name。使学生及时对新学知识进行练习巩固。
(3) Show the pictures of Bill Gates and Xi Jinping to check the students if they can know the first name and the last name well.
设计意图:学生在练习描述first name 和last name以后,呈现比尔和习大大的图片检测学生对first name 和last name的掌握。做到课时中小目标,小练习,小检测。(删除人称呼拓展,因为步骤较多,容量较大,一课时难以完成)
(4) Read the picture in 2a and get the students to distinguish the first name and the last name. Write F for first name and L for last name. Check the answers.
设计意图:教材中2a的阅读任务,阅读图片和名字清单,找出其中的first name 和last name.进一步帮助学生对first name 和last name的了解。
StepⅢ Practice(While-reading)
Read, draw and learn
(1) 2b. Skim the 3 messages and tell me what they are about. (names, telephone numbers) Explain the reading strategy: skimming.
设计意图:教材中的2b阅读内容是阅读3条信息,我对教材这部分的阅读任务进行了适当调整。先要求学生跳读信息,说说大意(以中考题型阅读选择题或阅读答问的形式来检验学生的跳读情况)。重在培养学生如何获取大意的能力,使学生了解skim的阅读策略,为今后的阅读打基础。
(2) 2b. Scan the messages and match them with the pictures. Explain the reading strategy: scanning.
设计意图:学生通过skim了解文章大意之后,然后要求学生扫读文章,完成匹配图片的任务。帮助学生了解scan的阅读策略,为今后的阅读打基础。
(3) 2b. Read the messages for details. Draw a mind-map with the information in the messages as my model.
设计意图:学生通过细节阅读,完善补充思维导图。帮助学生建构文章的细节信息,运用思维导图建构知识的学习方法。
StepⅣ Production(Post-reading)
Show, present and read
(1) Get the students to show their mind-map in groups and do a presentation.
设计意图:学生通过组内展示,交流,转述了文章的内容,并进一步巩固所学知识。
(2) Get the students to listen to the reading and follow. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
设计意图:学生听录音,跟读文章,帮助学生加强语音语调的模仿,使学生能正确地朗读课文。
StepⅤ Progress
(1) Explanation.
first name = given name 名
last name = family name 姓
first name +last name=full name(全名)
设计意图:本课时语言知识点的拓展和本课的小结。进一步帮助学生对该知识点的掌握。
(2) Exercises. Get the students to practice the language points. Check the answers.
设计意图:通过练习来帮助学生巩固本课时所学知识,并检测教学目标达成情况。
Homework assignment
(1). Read the names in 2a and Name List on Page111 5 times. 朗读2a和111的名字5遍。
(2). Write your messages as 2b. 仿照2b写出你自己的信息。
设计意图:家庭作业的布置,帮助学生熟悉一些常见的英文名字,姓和名,写个人信息巩固本课时所学知识,同时为下个课时的写作做准备。
