案例：用英语做事情 can do

案例特点：结合学校运动会，用情态动词谈论自己运动方面的特长并完成运动会报名任务。
教学内容：
(1) Learn the new words about sports events.
(2) Learning how to express what sport you can do.
(3) Learning how to fill in an entry form.
教学目标：能用情态动词就体育项目谈论自己的爱好、特长，能与不能，并完成运动会的报名任务。
教学步骤：
Step 1. Lead in（导入）
Teacher asks and students answer.
Do you like sports? What sports do you like to do?
Step 2. Presentation（呈现并教授新）
Present and teach the new words about some sports, using “Can you…?”（使用句型“Can you…?”呈现新单词）
100-meter race, 200-meter run, 400-meter run, 800-meter run, 1500-meter run, 3000-meter run, high jump, 110-meter hurdles, long jump.

Step 4. Presentation（呈现并学习新单词）
Present and teach some other new words using “Can you…?”

（环节点评：在上面的两个环节中老师处理了新单词，由于是新课，单词又比较多，老师采取分步教学的方式，以便分散难点。单词的处理为后面的任务搭建了台阶。）

Step 11. Task 2 （任务2）Writing（写作）
根据报名表的内容，写一份自己小组运动会的报名报告，说明本组同学能做什么，不能做什么。

（环节点评：在上面两个环节中，老师抓住了一个契机，即：学校即将召开运动会，利用这个机会，创设了一个要求学生们报名的真实情景。任务开始时老师先将学生分成小组，组内有一名同学询问大家的意愿和每个人擅长的项目，其他同学可以自愿报项目，也可以互相推荐，直到将所有项目报满为止。在完成任务过程中，由于任务的设置基于学生们的日常生活，是学生们非常熟悉的，在语言方面，老师前期帮助学生们做了充分的准备，由此使学生产生了交流的动机，在完成任务的过程中学生在使用需所学语言做事情，在完成任务过程中，语言的工具性得以体现，他们体会到了所学语言的真实性和其价值。这节课的目标是学生们做了一件事情--每个小组报报名表完成了。衡量任务型教学的标准之一就是要看是否用所学语言做成了一件事情，而非单纯学习了几个语法项目和单词。）
