Teaching procedures: Step1. Review cartoon time. Let’s act it out. Step2. Look, my friend Paul is coming. Which letter can I write here? First, look at these words. They are ball, birthday, book, robot. B is for ball,/b/, /b/, ball. Let’s sing the song. What’s this? Here are some words with a letter p. What are they? Ss: pie, cap, up, sleep. So, we can say” p is for pie, /p/, /p/, pie.”. Let’s sing these words. What is Paul doing? Look, (listen) Paul is walking up and down. Do you know “up and down”? Look at me(做手势) “up and down” What does ‘Paul is walking up and down.’ mean? Read after me and do the actions. Now, follow the video. Do you know the sound of the letter p? Let’s have a check. 1. Listen, think and spell. pat bat Ben pen pig big 2. Find other words with a sound /p/. Open your books and turn to page 17. Let’s tick in your ticking time. I know the sound of the letter P, so I tick three stars. What about you? Step3. Look at these pictures. What should we say? Think about them, please. Look, we should say “Don’t run.” to the boys. Who has the sign? Stand up, please. Show us the sign and say. Look, what are they doing? Can we do these in the library? So, we should write “Don’t ” first. Open your books and turn to page 17. Let’s write together. (It means “Don’t talk.” …) Please check out your answers. Can you read? Let’s tick in your ticking time. I can say “Don’t…” So, I tick three stars. There are some signs in our school, too. Look at these signs and think about their meanings. You can speak Chinese. Now, I understand the signs in my school. So, I can tick three stars. How about you? Please tick in your ticking time. Step4. Listen, Tim and Tom are singing. What are they singing? Tim wants to sleep. What does “want to sleep” mean? Can you help Tim to sing? Sing it slow, please. Try to follow him. Tom wants to talk. And he sings… (听歌曲) Let’s help Tom to sing. First, sing it slow. Follow Tom, please. Girls act Tim, boys act Tom. Let’s sing this song. Now, sing this song together. Step5. You all did a good job in our class.
