3. Pair work and act out the dialogue in class.
三、Teaching procedure
Step 1 Warming up
Ask the students to be familiar with the words below according to the pictures on computer:
Telephone, calculator, car, personal computer.TV, electric light, light bulb, alarm, clock, microwave oven, electric slipper
Step 2 Persentation
1.Teacher: When was the car invented? It was invented in ….
Choose the three inventions of these and ask students to guess when each one was invented.For example, you might choose car, telephone, and personal computer
2. Get several different students to guess and write the dates on the board. Ask the class to repeat the questions and answers.
T: When was the car invented?(Class repeat)
T:Good! Now ,TanFei, what was your guess?
S1: In 1900
T: OK. Tanfei, repeat after me. The car was invented in 1900
3.Repeat the process with several different inventions
4. Make the students find out the real dates.
5.T: Who were the light bulbs invented by? And what are they used for?
S2: They were invented by Edison.
T: Good ! That’s right ! Now ,class, repeat follow me
Class, what are light bulbs used for?
S3: I think they are used for seeing in the dark.
6. Give five minutes to get different answers.
Step 3 Practice 1a,1b, 1c
1a. Play the tape. The students fill in the blanks. Then read the sentences together. Ask individual students to comprehend the sentences and point out every phrase they see.
1b. Make sure the students understand the instructions and then listen to the tape. Try to describe the pictures they have checked with one sentence.
1c. Listen again. Fill in the blanks. Point out every phrase in the sentence.
Step 4 Pairwork
Role play the conversation in 1b according to one in 1c.
Step 5 Grammar Focus
Recall the phrases we study in this lesson. Encourage the students to explain them in English. Then comprehend and read the sentences in Grammar Focus.
