2. Oral words and phrases: social studies, artwork, go for a walk, stop doing
3. Encourage the students to express his or her interests.
Important points:
Master the words and phrases in aim 1.
Difficult points:
The differences between “stop to do” and “stop doing”.
Teaching steps:
Step 1: Talk Show
Ask one student to make a duty re port.
Step 2: Preview the lesson
1. Translate the phrases:
①了解 ②在中午 ③在体育馆
④关闭 ⑤停止做某事 ⑥简称
⑦have lunch ⑧do one’s home work
⑨go out for a walk
2. Check the answers.
Step 3: Listening
1. Listen to the tape and correct students’ pronunciations the first time.
2. Listen to the tape the second time and answer the following questions:
①What are Danny, Brain, and Jenny’s favourite subjects?
②What other subjects do you know?
what time it is是一个宾语从句，英语中当宾语从句是疑问句，该疑问句要用陈述句语序。
③Turn out the light!
turn off / out 关闭 turn on 打开
eg: Please turn out the TV. My baby is sleeping.
④ We should stop talking
Stop doing 停止正在做着的事情
Stop to do 停下来去做某事
eg: She stopped singing.
She stopped to sing a song.
Step 5: Consolidation
Ask the students to read the text and then discuss in groups: What are your favourite subjects?
Step 6: Exercises:
Ask the students to do the exercises on the screen, and then ask one student to check the answers.
Step 7: homework
Ask the students to make a poster and describe the subject.
