Step 2: Presentation
1. Finish 1a. Use the new words we learned just now to describe them.
2.1b. List some different kinds of food and drinks and then ask them to write down the tastes of each word. Ask them to read loudly to memorize them.
Step3: Practice
Make conversations.
Ask like this: What kind of food do you like?
I like the food that are delicious/ sweet/sour……
Step4. Listening
Pre-listening: Discuss the following questions about potato chips.
Do you like eating potato chips?
When were potato chips invented?
Who were potato chips invented by?
How were potato chips invented? (Let students guess according to the following key word.)
Key words: by accident, customer, restaurant, by mistake.
Post-reading:
1. Answer the following questions.
1) Who were the potato chips invented by?
2) When were they invented?
3) How were they invented?
2. Retell the short story by using some key words.
Step5: Consolidation
Do some related translation exercises.
Check them together.
Step6: Homework
1.Go over the history of chips in 2a & 2b and write a short essay about it.
2.Look for the invention of tea by the Internet or reading the books. Then copy the information on paper.
