Step 1 Warm up
(1) Show Ss some pictures and talk about them like this:
e.g. What is his problem?
Can you give him some suggestions?
(2) T: Some problems come from stress. Anyway, the most important thing to us is that we should find out the ways to deal with these problems.
Step 2 Pre-writing
(1) T: The Class 1, Grade 9 students want to find out whether they know how to deal with problems. They’re doing a quiz about good or bad ways to deal with problems.
Ask Ss to finish the quiz and circle the best answers.
(2) Discuss how to write a reply.
① T: Before writing, it’s necessary to organize our ideas first. When writing a reply about dealing with problems, we need to tell others two points: problems and suggestions
② Present the structure of the reply
Part 1: Introduction (thanks)
