The muck handing system of the TBM consists of the muck buckets on the cutterhead, the muck chute and machine conveyor.

The gripper shield consists of a tow piece shield structure, a horizontal gripping mechanism, a forward articulated shield section, which telescopes into the front shield, a tail shield, and primary and auxiliary thrust cylinders.

An automated electronic data recording system is using the PLC on the TBM .It reads and displays the operating levels of the machine’s various hydraulic and electric system and logs them on the hard disc on the pc.
