Friendly Happy Comfortable Safe Healthy Necessary Welcome Common Able Check the answers with the whole class, ask them to correct their answers. Help the students find the rule to form the opposites of the given adjectives. Step 2 Presentation Say: If someone shows good manners to others, he is a polite person. If someone does not show good manners to others, he is not polite. That is , If someone does not show good manners to others, he is impolite. Polite—impolite Help the students review the prefixes “in-”、“dis-”、“im-”、“ir-”.In this similar ways,help the students find as many opposites formed with these prefixes as they can. Step 3 Practice Show some exercises for the students to practice using the opposites of the adjectives. A. Fill in the blanks with the proper forms of the given verbs:important, happy, able, necessary, regular, possible, common 1.You will be to pass the exam if you don’t study hard. 2.There are lots of kinds of birds in Zhalong. Step 4 Presentation Show some adjectives ,have the students change them into adverbs. 1.bad bright clear close correct neat dangerous generous nice pleasant slow soft 2. gentle possible 3. easy happy heavy noisy angry Help the students find the rules ① 一部分形容词同时也是副词 e.g. long, early, fast ② 部分形容词和副词是两个完全不同的词 ③ 一部分形容词本身就是以“ly”结尾,则不能再在词尾+“ly”,这时可用介词短语的形式来表示方式。 ④ 一些形容词不能变成方式副词 1. 表语形容词:afraid, alive, alone, asleep 2. 表语,定语形容词:difficult,fat,little,long ⑤ 以辅音字母+y结尾的副词,要先变“y”为“i”再+“ly” ⑥ 以“le”结尾的直接去“e”+“y”即可 The linking verbs 1. 表示感官的动词: look, smell, taste, feel , sound, seem… 2. 表示变化的动词: get, turn, become, grow, go(bad)表示状态保持的动词:keep , stay, remain… 3.
