Four skills:

Sentences: I live in/ with…. It rains a lot.
My family and I often sit in the kitchen while my mother makes dinner

Step Two: New presentation (新课展示)
1. Four characters
1) We are going to talk about four new friends today. Who are they?(ppt. ) (again revise the four names “Stephen, Madee, Neil, Anna" quickly )
2) Do they live in the same country? Where do they live? Please read the four passages quickly and tell me.
3) Ss match the people with the places and practice by the song.
2. Stephen
1) What’s Stephen’s home like? Look at your books, listen to Stephen and answer some questions.
2) Answer the questions.
3) Discuss: If you go to Stephen’s home, what would you like to do there?
3. Madee
1) Does Madee have a big house, too? Please read Madee’s home page by yourselves. We will do “T” or “F” questions later.
2) T or F
3) Q: How does Madee get into her house every day? ( Present Ladder)
4. Fill in the blanks.
4. Neil
1) Let’s have a competetion. Read Neil’s home page clearly, loudly, quickly and crazily.Let’s see who is the best. Then the presents are yours! ( The teacher gives a model first.)

5. Anna
1) Anna lives in Moscow. What kind of house is her home? Read her home page and do ask and answer questions, try to ask more questions. Try your best!

1. Production: East, west, home is the best. I like my home very much too. ( Give a model about the teacher’s home. Ss read it.)
2. Ss talk about their homes.

Design purposes:
本环节的设计目的一是检查学生课前的预习情况;二是根据以往的经验,学生在本课四位小主人翁的名字以及他们的居住地等单词的读音上存在较大的问题,故想通过课前的充分预习及检查,为新课的顺利进行扫除一定的障碍。
