Step 2. language points:
1. find fault (with) 挑剔,找(……的)岔子,对……吹毛求疵
be one’s fault that-clause/for doing sth. ……是某人的过失
3. defend sb./sth. from /against 保护某人/物免遭 defend oneself 自卫,为自己辩护
in defence of 保卫,捍卫,为---辩护
4. sb./sth. deserve sth. 值得;应受;应得 starve to death 饿死; 快要饿死了
5.be supposed to do sth = should do = ought to do 应该做某事
be supposed to还可表示“被认为,被看作”。
He is supposed to be poor, but he is really quite wealthy.
大家都以为他穷, 实际上他很富裕。
suppose that...= supposing that... = providing that...= provided that... 假设......
6. deserve sth. 值得…… sb. deserve to do 某人值得做
deserve doing=deserve to be done 值得(被)做
