一、Teaching analysis :
It is the review lesson of Unit12 . It is expansion of Section B. In this lesson , we will talk about “April fool’s Day’s facets: origin, development and be popular all over the world.
二、Teaching aims：
1. Language and knowledge aims：
1）Students should master the basic knowledge of this Unit and use the Past Perfect Tense expertly.
2) Students can read the difficult articles and determine the truth or the false.
3. Skill aims:
Train students to talk , read and write.
2. Emotion aims：
1）Students can know the parts of Knowledge of western festivals.
2）Students can do with the things properly and let them to be an upstanding man.

Step1 Warm up
Let students watch a piece of video about : April fool’s Day

Reading1----Why do people treat others
　April Fools' Day is a day to play jokes on others, No one knows how this holiday began but people think it first started in France.
　　In the 16 th century, people celebrated New Year's Day from March 25 to April 1. In the mid—1560s King Charles IX changed it from March 25 to January 1. But some people still celebrated in on April 1, so others called them April Fools.
　　Each country celebrates April Fools' Day differently. In France, people call the April Fools “April Fish”. They tape a paper fish to their friends' backs to fool them. When he or she finds this , they shout “April Fish!”
　　In England, people play jokes only in the morning. You are a “noodle” if someone fools you. In Scotland, April Fools' Day is 48 hours long. They call an April Fool “April Gowk”. Gowk is another name for a cuckoo bird.
In the America, people play small jokes on their friends and any other people on the first of Aprol. They may point down to your shoe and say, “ Your shoelace is untied.” If you believe them and look down to see, you are an April Fool then.

I’m fooled
I will always remember the date –April Fool’s Day last year.
This was the luckiest day of my life.
When I woke up that morning, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, then I read English for half an hour. It was time to eat my breakfast. My little brother gave me a piece of Oreo. I was very glad to eat it first. Then I felt strange. It tasted special. What was it? I looked at my little brother. He laughed loudly and said nothing.
Later that day, I knew he put toothpaste (牙膏) into the Oreo. I couldn’t believe I was fooled by him. I brushed my teeth again. After that, my brother gave me a box of Oreo, and said “Happy April Fool’s Day.”
Finally I was happy to get these delicious biscuits.
I think I had a happy and lucky day.
What a lucky day!

1. Let some students act the two plays:
One is malicious play . (Let students act)(A came to school in the morning, B told me A that he failed in exam and the teacher was angry. A ran into the classroom and pushed the door .A box fell down on A’s head from the top of the door , A was hurt. The teacher wasn’t in the classroom. He was fooled.)
One is grateful play. (Let students act)（　Last march, my mother told my father and me that my grandfather would come in April. we were very happy because my grandfather was an interesting old man and he had not visited us since he went to Hong Kong. on April 1 my father and I bought a lot of food from the supermarket and bought a big bunch of flowers home. then we did some cleaning at home. at night when we were waiting for my grandfather, the bell rang and in came my mother. she smiled to us and said "April fools"! ）
