Step1 Review
1. Greeting.
2. Review the preposition in front of/ next to/ behind by asking: Where is …?
3. Show the Ss a map of a city and ask: What place can you see? Where is it ？
Step2 Overview
Task: Be a good reporter! What places are there in your friends’ map ? Where is it？
Step3 Presentation
1. Show the Ss a post card and ask: What’s this? I want to send it to my friend. So where can I go ? Where is the post office ? T shows Ss a map of a city. Ask Ss to say where the post office is.
2. Show Ss a picture about Wu yifan and Robin. Ask: Who are they? Where are they? Can you guess? They are looking at the robots in the museum. Wu Yifan has something to do. What does he want to do?
Ss read the dialogue and try to find the answers to the questions: Where is the museum shop?
Where is the post office?
Step4 Engagement
1. Role play. Ask the Ss to role play the conversation.
2. Game :Put some word cards on the blackboard to make a city map. Ask several students come to the front and guess the places in the city.
S1: Is there a … in the city?
Ss: Yes, there is. / No, there isn’t.
S1: Where is it?
Ss: It’s near/ next to/behind the…
3. Pair work. Ask Ss to take out the map they drew and talk about the places in the city/town/village map. Then ask individual students to report.
Step5 Summary
Ask several Ss to summarize what they learned in this lesson. Read the key sentences.
