非常感谢你们能在此见证这样一个重要的时刻。这些来自世界各地的人们已经决定把性别平权作为他们人生当中和大学校园里的一个重要议题。感谢你们的付出。
igraduatedfromuniversityfouryearsago.ihadalwaysdreamedofgoing，andiknowhowfortunateiamtohavehadtheopportunitytodoso.
四年前，我大学毕业。我曾经一直梦想着自己可以去大学读书，并庆幸自己能有机会实现。
brownbecamemyhome，mycommunity，anditooktheideasandtheexperiencesihadthereintoallofmysocialinteractions，intomyworkplace，intomypolitics，intoallaspectsofmylife.iknowthatmyuniversityexperienceshapedwhoiam.andofcourseitdoesformanypeople.
布朗大学成为了我的家，我的归属。我把我在布朗大学里的想法和经历贯彻到我的社交、工作、政治以及生活的方方面面。我知道我在大学时期的经历塑造了今天的自己。当然，很多人都是如此。
butwhatifourexperienceinuniversityshowsusthatwomendon'tbelonginleadership。whatifitshowsusthat，yes，womencanstudy，buttheyshouldn'tleadaseminar。whatif，asstillinmanyplacesaroundtheworld，ittellsusthatwomendon'tbelongthereatall。whatif，asisthecaseinfartoomanyuniversities，wearegiventhemessagethatsexualviolenceisn'tactuallyaformofviolence。
但是，如果大学告诉我们女性不能成为领袖;告诉我们是的，女性可以求学，但不能主持研讨会;告诉我们，就像世界上很多地区仍然表现的那样，女性根本不能上大学;像太多校园里的情况那样，让我们接受性暴力其实不属于暴力，我们该怎么办。
but，weknowthatifyouchangestudents'experiencessothattheyhavedifferentexpectationsoftheworldaroundthem，expectationsofequality，societywillchange.
但是我们知道，如果大学改变了学生的经历，让他们对周遭的世界、对男女平等有了不同的期待，那么整个社会就将改变。
asweleavehomeforthefirsttimetostudyattheplacesthatwehaveworkedsohardtoget，wemustnotseeorexperiencedoublestandards.weneedtoseeequalrespect，leadershipandpay.
当我们第一次离开家去千辛万苦考取的学校求学时，我们不应当目睹和经历双重标准。我们应该看到同等的尊重、领导力和回报。theuniversityexperiencemusttellwomenthattheirbrainpowerisvalued，andnotjustthat，butthattheybelongwithintheleadershipoftheuniversityitself.
大学不仅要告诉女性她们的头脑是有价值的，还要告诉她们在大学里女性也可以成为领袖人物。
andsoimportantlyrightnow，theexperiencemustmakeitclear，thatthesafetyofwomen，minorities，andanyonewhomaybevulnerableisaright，notaprivilege.
现如今同样重要的是，大学必须清楚地让学生知道。女性、少数族群和其他弱势群体的安全问题绝不是特权，而是他们的基本权利。
arightthatwillberespectedbyacommunitythatbelievesandsupportssurvivors，andthatrecognizesthatwhenoneperson'ssafetyisviolated，everyonefeelstheirownsafetyisviolated.
这种基本权利将被一个支持幸存者并且相信若某一人的安全被侵犯，所有人都感同身受的社会所尊重。
auniversityshouldbeaplaceofrefugethattakesactionagainstallformsofviolence.that'swhywebelievethatstudentsshouldleaveuniversitybelievingin，strivingforandexpectingsocietiesoftrueequality.societyoftrueequalityineverysense.anduniversitieshavethepowertobeavitalcatalystforthatchange.
大学应该是一个反对各种暴力行为的庇护所。这就是为什么我们认为一个离开大学的毕业生应该坚信且期待一个真正平等的社会，并为之努力奋斗。真正的平等应该体现在社会各个方面，大学有能力成为这种变革的重要加速器。
