教学目标
1. 能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇： perfect, thirsty, because, complete
2. 让学生了解如何绘制街区示意图。
3. 让学生了解如何介绍自己所喜欢的街区内建筑。
4. 让学生初步了解because引导的原因状语从句的用法。

掌握一些与介绍街区建筑有关的词汇：park, shop, bookstore, market, restaurant.
教学难点
1.掌握一些与介绍街区建筑的结构句式: I need a big park so I can play basketball.
And here’s a corner store.
And over there is a market.
2. 学习because引导的原因状语从句的用法。

Step 1. Lead-in
Lead-in by discussing the following questions:
1. What are Li Ming and Wang Mei doing?
2.How many bookstores does Wang Mei draw?
3. Where can Wang Mei’s mother buy vegetables and fruits?
Discuss the questions in groups. The teacher shows some pictures of different food, such as cereal, bread, salad, juice,tea.
Ask the students to talk about them for three minutes, and then let them present their result in class.
Step 2. Listening
Listen to the tape and find the answers to the questions:
1. Why does Li Ming draw a park on his map?
2. What does Wang Mei buy?
3.Where does Wang Mei take Jenny to have a visit?
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3. Reading
Read the text and decide the statements are true or false.
1. Li Ming wants to buy drinks in the market.
2. Wang Mei has bought a lot of books.
Wang Mei wants her mother to buy vegetables and fruits in her neighbourhood.
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 4. Activities
1. Introduce your own neighbourhood in groups. What is your favourite neighbourhood like? What can you do in your neighbourhood? Make up a dialogue between three or four students. Then present it in front of the class.
2. Work with your partner. Write an e – mail to each other to introduce your favourite festival.
Step 5. Write a short note.
Suppose you are going to draw a neighbourhood and introduce it. Write a short note, remember to tell something about your faourite places.
Ask the students to practice for a while, and then let them read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6. Come to “ Let’s Do It!”
Listen to the tape and finish Exercise 1 together. Read the dialogue again and finish off Exercise 2.
Work with your partner. Act out the dialogue. Suppose you and your partner are Li Ming and Wang Mei.
Practice for a while. Then ask some students to present their dialogues in front of the class.
Step 7. Homework
1. Finish exercise in the activity book.
2. Finish Exercise 3 in “ Let’s Do It!”
