Narcissus was good-looking. He had long, blond hair, bright, blue eyes and white teeth. Many young girls loved him, including Echo.
Echo lived near the lakes. Echo had made the Queen, Hera, angry, so Hera made Echo only able to speak three words. That was, she could only say the last three words of the person she was talking to again.
Poor Echo loved Narcissus but could never tell him how she felt. Narcissus made fun of her and she ran away crying.
