Unit 8 I'll help clean up the city parks
【教学目标】
1.知识目标：
1) 掌握以下词汇：
specially, fill, disabled, unable, organization, donation, pleasure, blind, deaf, carry,
shut, fetch, support, appreciate, shut, imagine, cannot (=can’),donate
2) 理解并会运用下列句型。

Bing blind, deaf, unable to walk or use your hands easily is something that most people can not
imagine.
The money is well used to help disabled people.
2.能力目标
1) 引导学生理解课文内容，掌握阅读技巧, 可以帮助我们更好地理解英语短文。
2) 通过阅读，获取信息，引导学生明确单词词性，从而帮助理解他们在单词中的意思。
情感目标
Help your family and friends to solve the life’s big or small problems with the ways you
have learnt.
【重点难点】
教学重点: 1. 掌握运用单词、短语以及句型。2.掌握阅读策略，理解文章。
难点: 能抓住文章主干正确的复述课文，并准确写出相关的短文。

任务型教学法和情景教学法
【教学过程】
I. Warm—up .
教师活动：检查单词1) 正音:齐读本课单词，让学生自己指出发音有误的单词，由教师集体正音。让个别学生站起来朗读单词，教师强调发音规则。然后领读---学生自由读----齐读。 2)听写单词，让2个同学上黑板听写，完成后让另外的2名同学来批改，检查完单词后，教师要多鼓励学生，让学生以小组为单位互相批改，小组长汇报听写情况。对听写全对者提出表扬，对出错较多的词在黑板上提出集体更正，并告诉学生要根据发音和构词法记单词。并结合学生出现的错误适当的讲解一些有规律性的单词记忆。
学生活动：齐读单词，个别同学读单词，默写并互改单词，检测预习情况。
II. Pre-task (预备任务)
教师活动：让学生思考一下信和文章的区别，并问他们知道多少种信，同学之间可相互提示。
学生活动：根据老师的提示，分小组讨论，合作学习。尽量尝试多用本课所学的句型及其回答。
Question： How is a letter different from an article? List three differences.
Keys ：①letters need addresses
②letters need greetings at beginning and end
③letters use informal language
III While-task (同步任务)
1 . Task 1 : Fast reading (Scanning)
教师活动：教师检查预读情况，提出问题让学生带问题速读。
Read the passage quickly and do the following.
1) What has “Lucky” done for Liz?
2) What normal things can’t Liz do?
学生活动：快速阅读课文，掌握文章大意，迅速找出答案。
2.Task 2 : skimming
教师活动：让生仔细阅读课文，边读边划出重要短语，并让学生写下来并以小组形式讨论生词及短语的意思理解并试着造句。
学生活动：学生仔细阅读课文，先独立完成，然后再组内讨论。
例如：set up 建立，成立
e.g. We set up an organization to help disabled people.
cheer up 为……加油
e.g. I’ll cheer our football team up in the next match.
run out of 用光，耗尽
e.g. I am afraid we’ve run out of petrol.
3. Task 3: Reading aloud
教师活动：播放录音，让学生跟着录音大声阅读课文，然后学生自由朗读，教师抽查学生朗读情况，及时纠正语音、语调、停顿等。检查他们的发音。
学生活动：认真听录音并且跟着录音大声朗读课文，注意单词的语音语调。
4 . Task4: Intensive reading
教师活动：让学生小组合作学习，找出文中的重点短语和句子及疑难问题。小组选代表发言。最后教师总结点拨，并让学生做好笔记，教师观察，倾听，必要时要给与点拨。
学生活动：学生小组里讨论，发言，归纳．
Language points:
eg. (1) an organization set up to help disabled people. 一个为帮助残疾人而建立的机构
(2) fill my life with pleasure 使我的生活充满了快乐
fill…with 装满 eg：He fills the box with books.
be filled with…被装满……eg: The glass is filled with water.
(3) There are many people who face the these challenges.=There are many people
facing these challenges.

(5) get a specially trained dog 得到一只特殊训练的狗
(6) at once=right now 立刻，马上
(7) be used to do sth.=be used for doing sth.
(8) fetch/ take/ bring/ carry的用法
3) Let the students write these on the blackboard.
IV Post—Reading
1. 处理3a Find one example of each part of speech in the reading.
2. 处理3c Use information in the letter to make true sentences by matching the different parts.
3. 针对性练习：同步学习89页Basic Exercises I,Ⅱ,III.
（在全班检查答案，比较谁的答案更吸引人，选择最好的供大家参考。表扬有新意的答案。）
V. 实践应用
Writing: Write a short reply to Liz Smith. In your letter:
1. Offer to help her more.
2. Say why you are able to help.
3. Say what you could do to help.
参考例文：
Dear Liz,
I was so happy to receive your letter. Thank you very much for writing to tell me
about Lucky. I would really love to come and visit you one day and see how Lucky helps
you. I’d also like to help you some more because I have some extra time at the moment.
Perhaps I could help you at home, or do some work for “Animal Helpers” .I enjoy watching
them train the animals too. I’ll call them one day soon. Here is my phone number …

【教后反思】
这篇短文不是难理解，要给学生说出具体可行的阅读任务，也便于学生完成。不要太泛泛讲解，而是让学生自己来理解就可以了。
