Unit 5 Our School Life Topic 1 I usually come to school by subway. Section B 一、教学目标 1. 能根据已学语音、音标及发音规则,正确朗读下列词汇并运用于情景对话中:weekday, early, bird, catch, worm, sometimes, seldom, walk, never, ride, park, watch, TV, television, watch TV, soccer, football, movie, film 2. 在Section A的基础上,复习交通方式,能正确运用always, usually, sometimes, seldom, often, never等频度副词,同时能用介词by加交通工具和动词短语两种不同方法来表示交通方式。 3. 在情景对话中,能够表达“日常的交通方式、某项活动的频度”等语言功能,如: 1) I usually come to school on foot, but sometimes by bike. 2) I seldom walk to school. I often come by subway. 3) I never come to school by subway. 4. 使学生明白早睡早起的重要性。 二、教学重点及难点 在对话操练、两两问答、小组调查等活动中,学习用频度副词来进行日常活动频率的有关表达,同时还学习和操练用两种不同的表达(介词by加交通工具和动词短语)对交通方式进行问答及切换。 三、教学准备 教师:教学课件;多媒体设备 学生:课前预习 四、相关资源 五、教学过程 Task 1 Step 1 Warming-up Free talk 1. Work in pairs based on the following structures. T: How do you usually come to school? S1: By bike. T: How do you usually go to the zoo? S2: By bus. 2. Choose a few pairs to act them out. 【设计意图】复习上节课所学知识点,培养学生口语表达能力。 Step 2 Pre-listening 1. Learn some adverbs of frequency: always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never 2. Look at the pictures, and then use always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never to make sentences. e.g. She always dances on the weekend. 3. Ask students to use always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never to make sentences. e.g. A: I often come to school on foot. B: I never come to school late. C: My father often goes to work by car, but sometimes by subway. D: Sometimes I go to the mountains on weekends. … 4. Look at some pictures and learn some new words: walk, do one’s homework, watch TV, see a movie, play soccer / football, bird, worm 5. Work in groups based on the following structures. T: What time do you usually get up? S1: I usually get up at half past six. S2: I usually get up at six. S3: I usually get up at a quarter past six. … 【设计意图】进行新的语言输入,为接下来的听力活动做准备。 Step 3 While-listening Work on 1a&1b 1. Ask students to predict the main idea based on the pictures in 1a. 2. Let students listen to 1a and complete the sentences with usually, always, often, sometimes, seldom, or never. 1) Michael ________ walks to school but __________ goes by bike. 2) Helen ________ goes to school on foot. She _________ takes the underground. 3) Sally ________ takes the underground. She ________ goes to school by bus. 3. Listen to the recording again and check the answers. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation. 【设计意图】训练学生听录音获取具体信息的能力,及培养学生借助图片及听力任务推测对话大意的能力。 Step 4 Post-listening Work on 1c 1. Finish 1c, and then check the answers in pairs. 2. Let students act out the dialogue using the following words and phrases: H: get up, on weekdays M: 6:00 H: early bird; how, go to school M: usually, on foot H: seldom, walk; often, by subway S: never, by subway; always, take a bus 3. Discuss when to get up and how to go to school in pairs. You may begin like this: A: What time do you usually get up on weekdays? B: I usually get up at about 6 o’clock. A: How do you usually come to school? B: I usually come to school on foot, but sometimes by bus. 4. Report like this: B usually gets up at about 6 o’clock. He usually come to school on foot, but sometimes by bus. 【设计意图】让学生根据听力材料创编对话,训练学生的综合语言运用能力。 Task 2 Step 1 Pre-listening Work on 2a&2b Do 2a. 1. Study the example to understand the two ways of expressing the same meaning. Then fill in the blanks. 1) He sometimes _______ home ________ _______. He sometimes takes the subway home. 2) We usually go to the Beijing______. We usually _________ to Beijing. 3) They often go to the park ________. They often _________ to the park. 2. Discuss and check the answers in groups. 3. Learn some language points. 1) Try to find the rules by yourselves. Then present the rules to the whole class. Check the rules with the help of the teacher. go…by subway — take the subway go…by bike — ride a bike go…on foot — walk go…by bus — take a bus go…by car — take a car go…by plane — fly e.g. He usually flies to Beijing. = He usually _____ to Beijing _____ _____. 2) He sometimes takes the subway home. 他有时乘地铁回家。 take the subway home“乘地铁回家”。此处home为地点副词,因此在home前省略介词to,除此之外,here和there也是地点副词。 e.g. On my way home, I met Jane. 在我回家的路上,我遇到了简。 Come here, Kate. 凯特,到这里来。 Let’s go there to play soccer. 让我们去那边踢足球吧! Do 2b. 1. Ask and answer questions about the pictures in 2a with their partner, using two ways of expressing means of transportation. Then some pairs act out the dialogues. e.g. A: How does Li Xiang go to school? B: He often goes to school by bike. / He often rides a bike to school. ... 【设计意图】该部分是对上节课知识的巩固和延伸,主要借助图片和例子帮助学生在表示交通的两种表达法之间转换,为后面的听力活动做准备。 Step 2 While-listening Work on 3 1. Let students read the form in 3 before listening and predict the listening material. 2. Learn the new words: watch TV, soccer/football, movie/film 3. Listen to the passage about Nancy’s activities and check the correct answers individually. Then check the answers with their partners. 4. Listen again and check the answers together. 【设计意图】以听力的方式练习和巩固Section A和Section B中有关交通方式以及进行各种日常生活的频率的重点词汇和表达方式。 Step 3 Post-listening Work on 4 1. Retell the passage according to the blank in Section B 3. 【设计意图】基于听力表格进行短文复述,训练学生口头表达能力。 2. Make a survey in groups based on the following questions. 1) What time do you usually get up on weekdays? 2) How do you usually come to school? 3) Do you watch TV on weekdays? 4) Do you play soccer on Sundays? 5) Do you see movies on weekends? e.g. In our group, A usually gets up at about 6 o’clock. He usually comes to school on foot, but sometimes by bus. He seldom watches TV on weekdays. But he often plays soccer on Sundays. Sometimes he sees movies with his parents on weekends. We can: use Adverbs of Frequency correctly e.g. never, seldom, sometimes, often, usually, always 【设计意图】总结本节课的知识点,以教师指导为主,让学生自主总结。 Step 5 Homework 1. Memorize the new words and phrases. 2.
