Warm up教师活动: Review what we learnt last class with students. When was the telephone invented? It was invented in 1876. When was the car invented? It was invented in 1885. IV. 强化巩固Part 4 Groupwork教师活动：Imagine that you are alone on a tiny island. Choose five inventions you would like to have on the island with you. Tell the group what you chose and why. 教师读标题让学生理解题意，让学生分组讨论，各抒己见，例如： Id like to have a radio because I could listen to music all day. Yes, but thats not going to help you leave the island. I think it would be better to have a boat because I can take the boat to leave the island. I think I want to have a computer so that I can send emails to my friends and I can also chat with my friends. I would like to have a mobile phone because I want to tell my friends where I am. I will ask them to bring me food to eat and help me leave the island. 1. 重点短语和知识： the most helpful invention: helpful是由help加ful构成的形容词，类似的词还有useful, careful, wonderful等。helpful 的最高级是在前面加most。 It gives people more time to work and play every day. give sb. sth.意思为“给某人某物”，此短语还可以改为give sth. to sb., 例如：give me the book = give the book to me; give your mother the present = give the present to your mother. 在more time to work and play中，to work and play为动词不定式作定语修饰time，例如the time to get up, something to eat, the best way to learn English, a place to have fun等。2、知识点突破。1）would like to do sth.意思为“想干某事”，相当于want to do sth., 例如： I would like to work hard to achieve my dream. = I want to work hard to achieve my dream. They would like to go on an exciting trip. = They want to go on an exciting trip.另外，would like后面还可以直接跟名词、代词作宾语。例如： What would you like? I would like an English dictionary. I would like some food to eat because I am very hungry. 2) help sb. (to) do sth. 意思为“帮助某人做某事”，其中的to可以省略。例如： We usually help these old women and men (to) clean their houses. V. 实践应用1、Speaking Which invention is the most useful? Why? Which invention is your favorite?
