(2)语法:定语从句和状语从句 Teaching difficulties: 定语从句和状语从句 知识点拨: 一.Key words: 1.own (1)动词,“拥有”,其名词为:owner,“主人” (2)形容词,“自己的”,常用于名词所有格或形容词性物主代词的后面。 e.g. ①He is the o_______ of the store, I mean he owns the store. ② I saw the whole accident with my o_____ eyes. ③ Do you know who o_______ this house. 2.everyday 形容词“每天的,日常的”,常作定语,后面直接加名词。 every day 意为“每天,天天”,是副词词组,常作状语。 e.g. 1) The first thing to do is to finish the e_________ task. 2) The computers have become a necessary part of ______ ______________ (我们的日常生活)。 3.quarter, n四分之一 【用法点拨】quarter作名词,四分之一 或(时间)一刻钟,也可用作分数,a quarter\one quarter 意为“四分之一”或“一刻钟” 【联想辐射】1)分数的表达方式:分子是基数词,分母用序数词。当分子大于一时,分母用复数。“三分之二”为two thirds,“二分之一”常用a half, “四分之三”常用three quarters 2)当含有分数的名词短语做主语时,谓语动词的单复数形式要根据该短语中的名词的形式来确定。 e.g. ⑴Two thirds of the apple ____ (be) red. (2)Three quarters of the books in the library _______(write) in English. 二.Key sentences : 1….because it’s essential for tourism, international business, entertainment, radio, television, newspapers, and the Internet. 【解析】be essential for… , 对…至关重要.类似于be important for… e.g. English ____________________ my job. 英语对我的工作非常重要 2.The reason is that in the 18th century, the UK was a country whose industrial products were sold all over the world. 【结构分析】1)句中that引导表语从句,当reason做主语,后接表语从句时,常用that引导,不用because。 2)whose引导的定语句修饰先行词a country, whose 在定语从句中做主语的定语 【拓展】reason后接定语从句,当关系词在从句中作主语、宾语、表语时,关系词不能用why,而用that或which. e.g. The reason that he explained at the meeting was very important. ※※ Can you tell me the reason why you are late again ? ★ ★reason做事很挑剔, 很少和of在一起,但喜欢和for拉关系, 遇到because就躲避,见了that 则笑嘻嘻,好像见了老知己。 3. … in place of other European languages. 【用法点拨】in place of 为介词短语,意为“代替”, 其同义短语为instead of. in place of + n\pron\doing e.g To protect the environment, we should ride bikes_______________. 为了保护环境,我们应该骑自行车来代替开小汽车。 【注意】take the place of sb= take one’s place “代替某人”,是动词词组。 4. The English language has become more interesting because it has borrowed some French words. In the world many people speak Chinese. Chinese is also very interesting. In Chinese, there are also some words that have been borrowed from English(3) . An example is the word “shafa”(沙发) in Chinese . It is “sofa” in English. The pronunciations sound similar. “sofa” means large comfortable padded seats with raised arms and back, wide enough for two or more people . Another example is the word “motuo”(摩托) in Chinese. It is “motorcycle” in English. I often practice English with friends, learn it by reading aloud, listening to cassettes and asking the teacher for help. I like reading English magazines, I often memorize the words in them to help me learn more words. Also, I join an English language club. I often have conversations with friends to practise my pronunciation. To get much writing practice, I have made a pen pal in the USA. I enjoy listening to English programmes on the radio in the evening. As for sentences, I think, studying English grammar is a wonderful way. I often make original sentences using the grammar. I am glad that I’ve made great progress in that way. Hope you do well in English.
