Unit 3 Our Hobbies Topic 1 What’s your hobby ? 教学内容分析及课时分配建议: 本话题围绕业余爱好而展开。主要内容包括:由Helen和 Wen Wei谈论空闲时间做什么引出话题--What’s your hobby ?在孩子们谈论业余爱好的过程中,引出本话题的语法知识used to do sth.和本话题的功能“喜欢和不喜欢”。本话题除了介绍常见的业余爱好。如:集邮、收藏物品、饲养宠物等还介绍了另类有趣的业余爱好。如:制作剪贴薄。还要求学生制作班级薄来培养学生的动手能力。通过学习本话题,学生能够交流有关业余爱好的信息,丰富自己的业余生活。 本话题建议用5个课时来完成: 第一课时:Section A—1a,1b,1c,1d 第二课时:Section B—1a,1b,1c,2,3 第三课时:Section A—2,3a,3b,Section B-4a,4b 第四课时:Section C—1a,1b,2,3 第五课时:Section D-Grammar and Functions,1,2,Project 第四课时(Section C—1a,1b,2,3) 教学设计思路: 本课主要继续学习used to do 句型及如何制作剪贴薄。首先让学生复习used to do并完成2的对话练习。然后教师通过实物、图片及动作来导入新词汇。随后让学生初读1a完成1b。初读只是了解大意,接着让学生精读,解决文中的知识点,完成1a。学生了解了剪贴薄的知识后依照所学来尝试设计班级薄。鼓励学生展示成果,完成3。师生回顾,完成本课时。 Ⅰ. Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims: (1) 学习并掌握新词汇 friendship,funny,stupid,ugly,background,paper,scissors,glue,cut,stick,lazy, passage,introduction,title (2) 继续学习used to do句型。 2. Skill aims: (1)能够表达过去常做的事情。 (2)能够制作自己的剪贴薄或类似的东西。 3. Emotional aims: 4. Culture awareness: 了解剪贴薄的历史渊源和文化背景。 Ⅱ. The key points and difficult points 1. Key points: (1) 掌握used to do 句型及其变化。 (2) 学习剪贴薄、班级薄的制作方法。 2. Difficult points: (1) 熟练运用used to do句型。 (2) 有条理的介绍班级薄相关知识。 Ⅲ. Learning strategies 1. 通过文章的标题来猜测文章主题。 2. 通过构成法来猜测词意。 Ⅳ. Teaching aids 多媒体课件/图片/录音机/胶水/剪刀/报纸等 V. T:Look at the Bb. Do you understand the saying “People can’t step twice into the same river.” ? T: Very smart ! So do our hobbies . You enjoyed doing something in the past , but now you don’t do it at all . Is it so ? T: Which expression can we use to describe this situation ? T: Great ! S2, what did you use to do ? T: How about you , Xxx? T: And you, Xxx ? T: What a pity ! You give up such good hobbies . Maybe you are very busy now ,right ? T: Now , Look at the pictures in 2. Remark:除了操练2中的图片,教师还可以让能力较好的学生谈谈自己的爱好变化情况,以加强对used to do 的运用。 Stage 2(5mins):Pre-reading Step Teacher activity Student activity Designing purpose ( Class activity) Show some real objects to teach the new words and get the Ss to know what a scrapbook is. T: Good performance ! Look ! I have brought so many things to the classroom . What’s this ,do you know ? T: Yes , it’s glue . We use it to stick things . Look , I can stick a piece of paper to the Bb. And what’s this ? T: Right . It’s a pair of scissors. I can cut the paper into pieces. Do you know why I brought these things? T: Haha , today, we are going to learn how to make a scrapbook. Do you know what’s a scrapbook? Learn some new words and know something about scrapbook. Ss: 胶水。 Ss: 剪刀。 Ss: Sorry. 学习新词汇,为阅读扫除部分词汇障碍。 Remark: 再导入单词时,教师最好带一些实物,通过介绍实物或做动作来学习新词汇。教师还可以通过图片、构词法、反义词、近义词等来教学新词汇。如果教师能够找到有关剪贴簿的图片或实物更好,顺便介绍一下剪贴薄的历史和文化背景。 Stage 3(10mins):While-reading Step Teacher activity Student activity Designing purpose (Individual work ) Let the Ss read 1a and finish 1b. T: Is it interesting to make a scrapbook ? T:Now let’s learn something more about scrapbook from 1a. But before reading the passage, you ‘d better read 1b . You have to do 1b,while reading 1a. Get your pen ready and start to read the passage . T: Now ,let’s check your answers . No.1 , who wants to try ? T: Do you agree ? T: Yes , the title should summarize the main idea of a passage . Answer D is only a part of the passage . Then how about No. 2 ? Read 1a and finish 1b. Ss: Yes . Ss: Yes . S1: D S2: I think A is better . S3: ... S4: ... 训练学生的阅读理解能力。完成1b。 Remark:在学生读1a之前,要先让他们读1b,明确要完成的阅读任务。尽管还有些新词汇没有解决,但不会影响学生做1b 。正好可以培养学生寻找特定信息的能力。在核对答案时,可以乘机教学部分新词汇。如:title,stupid, background。 Stage 4(5mins):Post-reading Step Teacher activity Student activity Designing purpose 1 (Class activity ) Deal with the difficult points in 1a. T: Good job . Do you know anything about scrapbooking after the first reading ? T: But do you understand each word or sentence now ? T: So read 1a again carefully . Find out the difficult points while reading . T: Have you found out ? T: While you are reading, I am taking notes about your difficult points . I have written them down on the Bb. First, let’s solve the words . Xxx, can you read this word ? Just try ! T : Great ! This one , who can spell ? T: ... T: Do you have more questions? Read 1a again and find out the difficult points. Ss: Yes . Ss: No . Ss: Yes. S1: Friendship . S2: ... S3: ... S4: ... ... Ss: No. 解决短文中的难点词语、句子。完成1a 。 Remark: 通过精读短文,让学生找出难点。可以采取教师引导,以师生问答形式解决难点;也可以先让学生自己通过讨论解决,然后教师稍作补充。 Stage 5(15mins):Finishing 3 Step Teacher activity Student activity Designing purpose (Group work) Let the Ss work in groups and discuss how to make a class book. T: We have learned a lot about scrapbooking . Next , I’d like you to write a passage about class book . You should work in groups .The table in 3 may give you some hints and you can follow 1a as an example. T: Hey ,class ! Stop discussing .You should start your passage now ! Group One : ... 培养学生的合作能力,写作能力和口头表达能力。 Remark: 这个环节是要求学生用英语做事情。教师要给学生相对充裕的时间,最好能够在课堂上当堂展示。学生展示完后,教师展示一个范本更好。教师还可以鼓励学生课后做一个真正的班级薄。利用做班级薄的机会,增进学生的友谊。 Stage 6(5mins):Summarizing and assigning HMK Step Teacher activity Student activity Designing purpose 1(Class activity ) Let the Ss summarize the important points of the lesson . T: I think you can make a class book now ,can’t you ? T: But today , we can’t make it in class . You can do it after class . Now,let’s summarize what we learned today . Finish the HMK after class. 培养学生的动手能力,提高学习兴趣。 Remark:教师既可以让学生制作一个剪贴薄,也可以让学生制作一个班级薄。 VI.
