Step1 revision and lead-in
Revise the target language learned last class. Get students to asks and answer questions in pairs like this…
Tell them to ask about all the five inventions.
Step2 2a
Show these new words on a screen by a projector.
Point to each one and teach them to read.
Ask students to read the instructions together
You will hear about some interesting inventions. Please listen and number the three inventions in the order that you hear them in the conversation.
Play the tape twice.
Step3 2b
Get students to read the instructions together. Be sure that each student knows what to do.
Then read the information under each heading.
You will hear the tape again, please listen carefully to what the people are saying and draw lines to match items in the chart below.
Call students’ attention to the three part sample given in the chart. Read it to the class and explain it…
Step4 2c
Get the whole class to read the instruction together.
Ask a pair of students to read this conversation to the class.
Then let them role play the conversation using the information in the chart in Activity 2c.
Get them to make their own conversations in the chart in Activity 2b.

The first time students just listen, then write a number on each short line in front each invention. Then tell the answers.
The answer is “3 1 2”
Students listen carefully and draw lines to match the items in the columns.
Some students read their answers to the class.
Follow the tape and repeat after it sentence by sentence.
