Unit 4  Integrated Skills 教学 目标 1.知识与技能 Complete information tables and written statements by reading , listening and writing. Use defining relative clauses or simple sentences.   2.情感、态度与价值观 Help the students to indentify and list the differences lives between earth and Mars.   重点 难点 1、重点 Help the students to master the important phrases and expressions   2、难点 Help the students to recognize key expressions used to describe the life on Mars in the future.   教学 方法 task-based approach   教学 用具 Tape recorder, Pictures and Multi-media   Teaching procedures: 二次备课 Step 1 Lead-in (导入本课话题) Ask students to talk about life on Mars. Daniel is going to watch a TV programme. On the programme,people will discuss what it might be like to live on Mars. (教学目的:创设情境导入新课)   Step 2 Listening and finishing off  Part A1 1.       Look through Part A1 and listen to the tape carefully. (教学目的:在听之前先让学生了解A1的内容,在此基础上有目的地听) 2.       Tell students that they should find all the information they need to complete Daniel’s notes by listening carefully . Play the recording of Part A1 for the students to listen. It can be played twice, The first time for them to listen carefully and find the information that they need,the second for them to check the answers. (教学目的:听两遍,听第一遍完成表格信息,听第二遍给学生核对信息) 3.       Try to use the useful information to complete the table. Survey conducted in:    (1) School in Sunshine Town Day:           (2) Friday Channel:         (3) Sunshine TV Name of programme:    (4) Moving to Mars Time:          (5) from 7:30 pm to 9 pm Percentage of students who would like to move to move away from the Earth:         (6) 50% Discuss the answers in pairs. Then ask five students to present their answers to the whole class for them to point out the mistakes if there is any. (教学目的:了解相关节目信息,为下面呈现的内容做铺垫,同时进行了简单的听力训练) Step 3 Look through Part A2. (教学目的:在听之前先让学生了解A1的内容,在此基础上有目的地听,降低难度,增加听力有效度) 1.      Tell them to listen to the tape and pay more attention to the main information. T: Daniel is watching the TV programme. He wants to make two lists of the important points. 2.      Listen to the discussion and help him complete his lists. If Ss are not sure, listen again. Then check the answers together. Advantages of living on Mars     Disadvantages of living on Mars 1. It is interesting.         1. We do not know if it is really safe. 2. I could go to online schools.        2. We could get ill from living there. 3. There is much more space. 3. It is so far away from Earth. … (教学目的:核对答案的同时,了解火星居住的优缺点) 3.      Then have them work in pairs to talk about the advantages of living on Mars and the disadvantages of living on Mars. Have a discussion in groups of four, and hold a debate. Advantages of living on Mars: Disadvantages of living on Mars: 4.        (教学目的:学以致用,让学生根据本节课所学的内容,表达出火星居住的估缺点) Step 4  Writing practice 1. This activity provides writing practice using the key words. T: Daniel and Simon are talking about the TV programme. Complete their conversation by using the information in Part A1 and A2. Ss finish the conversation in Part A3, and then check the answers. 3.      They read the conversation in pairs. Then have two of them act the conversation out before the class. This activity provides speaking practice using the target language. T: Just now, we talked about the TV programme on living on Mars. Suppose you are talking to your classmate about living on Mars. You want to tell him or her that life on Mars will be better than life on Earth. Work in pairs. Use Simon and Daniel’s conversation as a model. (教学目的:从life on Mars自然过渡life on Earth,展开话题) 2. Teach the important sentences on the blackboard. (教学目的:重点突出,帮助学生释疑解惑) 1. Would you like to live on Mars?        Would you like to do …? 2. It’ll be great to have robots do all the homework for us.  It作形式主语,to have…动词不定式作真正的主语。 T: Listen to the tape. Try to read after the tape. Encourage the Ss to make new conversations by themselves. Have the Ss work in pairs to practice the conversation. (教学目的:鼓励学生开口说,敢于表达自己的观点) Step 6:Pair work Practise the dialogue with the Ss according to the dialogue. Then make a sample conversation with an advanced student. Act the dialogue out. (教学目的:鼓励学生编写对话,培养学生综合运用语言知识点的能力) Step 7:Exercises I、Complete the following sentences. 1. Some of the students are afraid of ______ (see) aliens there. 2. They are not sure whether it is much _____ (safe) to live there.     3. The questions she asked last week is still under _________ (discuss).  4. Reading in the sun is _______ (harm)  to our eyes.   5. Don’t have the baby ____ (cry) all the time.   Keys: seeing, safer, discussion, harmful, cry II、Translate the following sentences. 1. 我们的班会以一个特别的讨论开始。 2. 不应当让家长为我们包办一切 3. 地球上的形势和火星上的相当不同。   Keys: Our class meeting started with a special discussion.        We shouldn’t have parents do everything for us.        The situation on the Earth is quite different from that on Mars.                   布 置作业 1.
