Aims
Step1: Lead-in and warm up
Ask the Ss to watch a picture part by part and guess which season it is. Say what the weather is like in spring.
Q: 1. Guess which season it is about?
2. What is the weather like in spring?
The Ss look at the picture.
Five or six students describe the weather in spring
Lead in the new concept.
Inductive phrases about the spring weather to prepare for writing.
Step2: New Concept:
1. (T: Which program on TV always talks about the weather? Here’s today’s weather report. And you can also see three sentences that describe the weather. Look carefully and choose “T” or “F”)
(1)The weather in Shijiazhuang is as warm as that in Baoding.
(2)The temperature in Kunming is as high as 18℃.
The temperature in Kunming is as low as -10 ℃.Teach the new words by talking about the temperature in some cities.
2. Do an exercise about the new words.
3. T: Look, who is she? Where is she from? Guess what Jenny will talk about? Read the lesson to see if your guesses are right or wrong and answer the questions
4.Read paragraph1 and write ‘T’ or ‘F’
5. Talk about environment in spring in Baoding.
6. Listen and try to find when Groundhog Day is?
7. Read paragraph2~4, then answer the questions.
8.Do an exercise about activities
The Ss look and speak.
Do an exercise “Fill in blanks”
The Ss read the passage and answer the questions.
Read individually and then discuss the answers with partner.

The Ss listen to something about Groundhog Day.
