Step1 Warming-up
Show some pictures of places and talk something about the pictures.
Step 2 Listening
Listen and match the words and expressions with the pictures in Activity 1.
Step 3 Work in pairs.
1. Say which places in Activity 1 you can find in your town.
2. Talk something about the pictures.
Step 4 Listen and read.
1. (Close the books) Listen to the tape carefully.
2. Ask and answer
1) What map is Lingling showing Sally?
2) Can you name three places they walk about?
3) Where is the Forbidden City?
4) How do you get to Beihai Park from Tian’anmen Square?
5) Where is the best place for shopping?
3. Play the tape and have them read and follow.
4. Act it out.

Step 5 Exercise
1. Match the numbers on the map with the places in Activity 4.
2. Listen again and check.
3. Complete the sentences with the words and expressions in the box in Activity 5.
Step 6 Pronunciation and speaking
1. Listen and repeat.
2. Work in pairs.
Look at the map in Activity 4 again. You’re in Wangfujing Dajie. Ask for and give
directions to other places.
3. Say where the places in activity 1 are. Use the words in Activity 5.
4. Work in pairs.
Draw a map of your neighborhood. Now ask for and give directions to places on
he map.

Finish the exercise in the workbook Ex. 2, 3 & 4.
