人教版九年级英语Unit 9 when was it invented? 教学设计
一.教材分析
本单元学习的是一般过去时的被动语态,包括一般过去时的被动语态的结构和运用,是在九年级第三单元“Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes”即含有情态动词的被动语态的基础上进一步学习被动语态,为以后被动语态扩展运用到不同时态中奠定基础。本单元涉及内容是本书当中比较重要的一部分。另外通过对我们熟悉经常使用的发明物的历史来开阔眼界,丰富学生的阅历,使学生养成勤于思考,善于总结的好习惯。
二.学情分析
九年级学生有较明确的学习动机和态度。本单元以发明为载体,通过各种发明和发明家激励学生求知的欲望。对刺激记忆手段多的知识记忆深刻,遵从记忆规律。大多数初中生主要通过他人评价初步形成对自己的评价,所以很在乎他人的评价。同时自我意识不断增强。因此在本课教学过程中,以任务型教学为主,通过任务和不同的评价方式,提高学生参与意识。
三.教学目标
1)知识与技能 掌握新词汇invent,invention,inventor,be used for,新句型When wasitinvented? It was invented in…. What’s it used for? It’s used for doing something.Who was it invented by? It was invented by….提高听力水平。理解和正确运用被动语态。能谈论重要发明的历史及用途。
2)过程与方法 本节课将在为学生创设真实的学习情境的基础上以 个任务贯穿始终,循序渐进,通过pairwork,groupwork,survey等实践交流活动,使学生切身体验,总结一般过去时的被动语态的结构,用法。
3)情感态度和价值观 使学生懂得人类的科学发明创造了丰富的物质文明。培养学生的创造发明的能力和愿望及为理想而努力的信念。

CAI课件,有关眼镜,手机,照相机,圆珠笔的发明历史,及自己感兴趣的发明的相关资料。

七. 教学过程
Step 1 leading in
Play a guessing game.
Show a bag to the students ,there are some things in it, for example, a pair of glasses, a mobile phone, a camera ,a ballpen.Then invite one student to come to the front,he/she touches one of them and describes it.Other students guess what it is.Later teach the new words “invention”
Step 2 Task 1. Learn the new sentences.
Pre-task: Teacher asks “When were the glasses invented? Help the students answer the question “They were invented in ____.”then ask “What are they used for?” and help them answer “They are used for seeing clearly.”
While-task: Read the four sentences in pairs,then discuss other inventions.展示主动语态的句子,以便区别主动语态与被动语态结构的差异。
Post-task: Show some pictures of inventions,for example,bicycle, light bulb,basketball,umbralla,plane,give the students three minutes to prepare the conversations.Then some pairs act out their conversations.总结一般过去时的被动语态的结构。
Step 3 Task 2. Listening
Pre-task: Show the five inventions in 1a,discuss which one was invented earliest,and which one was invented latest. Number 1-5.Then show your idea,for example, “I think car was invented before TV.”
While-task: Listen and match the inventions with the years.
Post-task: Check the answers.Ask the students to read out the answers like this “Telephone was invented in 1876”
Step 4 Task 3 Practice making conversations.
Pre-task: All the inventions have changed our life.They play more and more important part in our life.There are some people that we must remember.Learn new word “inventor”.Show some pictures of people,for example, Edison,ask “Who was light bulb invented by?” Help the students answer “It was invented by Edison”Read the conversation in pairs.
While-task: Watch the inventions in 2a.Free talk :What can you see in the picture? What are they used for? Can you guess? Learn the new words.Listen and match the inventions with the inventor and the usages. Then listen the tape again and check the answers.
Post- task:Making convertions with the information in 2a,2b in pairs. Step 5 Task 4 Introduce your favorite invention.
Pre-task: Before class ,the students have found the information about their favorite inventions.
While-task: Ask one student to show her/his favorite invention, Other students ask about invention,for example, “What is that? When was it invented? Who was it invented by? What is it used for?” The student answer the questions.
Post-task: Today we know many inventions and inventors,maybe we will be inventors some day,so study hard and hold on to our dreams.
Step 6 Homework
Write a passage about your favorite invention.
