《Unit 2 Colour Period 5 Grammar》
Language aims:
A 1. 用would rather…than… 表达喜欢做的事。
2. 用prefer… to.. 表达喜欢做的事。
Grammar points:
A. 1 would rather…than…意思是“宁愿….而不原，喜欢….而不喜欢。”在使用时，前面和后面都必须用表示并列的成人它的否定形式应该在would rather 的后面加not,而不是在would的后面加not.
[注] 后跟句子，该从句要用过去时。
2. 我们也可以用prefer… to…来表达“宁愿要； 更喜欢”, 后可跟名词、代词，也可跟动词不定式或动名词。
e.g. Which do you prefer, milk or tea?
My mother prefers to live in the countryside.
当你想表达喜欢一件东西，而不喜欢另一件东西时，可用prefer …to…来表示。
e.g. I prefer walking to jogging. Daniel prefers classic music to pop music.
prefer to do sth. rather than do sth. 表示“宁愿做…而不愿做…”
e.g. I prefer to study at night rather than watch TV.
▲prefer 是动词，它的过去式和过去分词都是preferred .它的意思是“宁愿，更喜欢”，后面跟名词或代词，也可接不定式或动名词。如：
① He preferred spending the summer in the country.我倒喜欢在乡下过夏天。
② She prefers to stay at home on Sunday.星期天她更喜欢呆在家里。
③ Which do you prefer , a dog or a cat?你更喜欢那个，狗还是猫？
[注]后可接动名词，也可接不定式，但前有情态动词时，其后只能用不定式。试比较：
① I prefer to do it myself./ I prefer doing it myself.我喜欢自己做这件事。
② I would prefer to do it myself.我宁愿自己做这件事。
▲ prefer 加名词或动名词，意思是“喜欢….而不喜欢….”如：
① I prefer the town to the country.我喜欢城镇而不喜欢农村。
② She prefers red to blue.她喜欢红色，而不喜欢蓝色。
③ I prefer staying at home to going out on Sundays.
星期天我喜欢呆在家里，而不喜欢到外面去。
