（1）提供相应图片，讨论消防员使用的消防用具。What can you see at the fire station? What can you see on a fire engine? What color is the fire engine? What does a fireman wear? Ect.
（2）引入生词，例如：axe, breathing, corridor, extinguisher 让学生把每种工具和用途对应起来。并请几个学生来回答。
（4）操练句型What is it used for? It is used for…
(5) 换用句型操练What is it used to do? It is used to…?
（6）玩一个配对游戏：一个学生拿工具卡片，另一个拿文字卡片。拿工具卡片的学生写出这些工具的名称，出示一张卡片给同伴看，并问问题，如：What is a long ladderused for? 拿文字卡片进行核对，并回答问题。
